kjar··on One-on-one meetings are underrated, whereas group meetings waste time (2017)
In my experience a 1 to 1 meeting cane help avoid defensive impulsive responses. Removing the reduced fear of broad judgement I think is a factor. They also covey personal respect which helps and feels good. Cutting out distractions from uninformed meeting participants also helps IMO.

Yes. An imperfect hack, but at least you can read TFA:

kjar··on FAA Finds New Risk on 737 Max, Orders Boeing to Make Changes
This plane appears to be a (sorta) flying dumpster fire rushed to market against Airbus with tragic consequences. One design flaw after another is MAX failure.
kjar··on US Senate report on Equifax breach [pdf]
Amen.

“Rockstars” OK?
kjar··on Boeing seeking to reduce scope, duration of physical tests for new aircraft
Boeing cost cutting as the Max runtime defects pile up - aircraft groundings, returns, and cancelled sales. My confidence in this rationale is non-existent.
kjar··on Facebook Emails Could Show Zuckerberg Knew of Questionable Privacy Practices
I have never used FB for many reasons, and it drives me nuts when close friends assume everyone does then you miss invites.

kjar··on Plastic Gears Are the Future (2017)
I have not worked with nylon, but have with PETG (no gears yet). I wonder how they compare.
kjar··on The richest 10% of households now represent 70% of all U.S. wealth
This argument is laughable. We all have smartphones so serious wealth inequality is OK? These days having a phone is a near requirement.
kjar··on Study Pinpoints Source of Banned Gas That Saps Ozone Layer: Eastern China
I agree we can and should do what we can to prevent the worst outcomes and labeling direct nonviolent action as terrorism is a bit much / counterproductive
kjar··on Boeing Believed a 737 Max Warning Light Was Standard
Making a safety feature costing a small fraction of the plane is straight up dumb and irresponsible- Boeing F’d up hard and are now in CYA mode
kjar··on Engineers say Boeing pushed to limit safety testing in race to certify planes
It is a tragedy that this regime resulted in such avoidable death at the interest of rushing a product to market. In short obviously Boing F’d up hard.
kjar··on I do not use a debugger (2016)
The debugger is a valuable tool. I don’t not use X. It is meaningless.
kjar··on Its butterfly keyboard design has failed, but Apple has yet to admit its mistake

kjar··on How Apple, Google, and other tech companies conspired against their own workers
This argument is very weak IMO. Paraphrased “I got paid happily, industry collusion to suppress wages is therefore OK”
kjar··on Nuclear power is the fastest way to slash greenhouse gas emissions, decarbonize
This falsehood gets rolled out regularly. New reactors take a decade to manufacture, have nearly zero private investment, and the icing on the turd cake produce waste lasting for centuries.
kjar··on Software Won’t Fix Boeing’s ‘Faulty’ Airframe
The lack of redundancy by default coupled with extreme profit seeking by Boeing for the 'upgrade' is inexcusable. TL;DR They shit out a faulty product hundreds died as a result
kjar··on It is unlikely that built-in email encryption will ever be available in Gmail
Mass surveillance is kinda Google’s model
kjar··on Facebook Loses Top Executives, Including Chris Cox
A non-disparagement clause is so fucking bonkers. I read these things and would never sign something like that. It’s a blatant corporate attack on your freedom of speech and absolutely insulting as a human. You pay me. You do not control me!
kjar··on Zuckerberg’s So-Called Shift Toward Privacy
FB cannot be privacy focused, the business model prevents it, there history belies it. How many times do you bang your head on a wall before you say no more?
kjar··on U.S. users are leaving Facebook by the millions, Edison Research says
Right we are supposed to believe FB at this point - laughable.
