I use Apple CarPlay and one thing that consistently worked was starting the navigation on the phone before it connected to the car.
Otherwise, the fix is relatively simple and cheap: the ECU has to be replaced, it doesn't cost too much, but it's pretty labour intensive.
In contrast, in Western Europe, my son is now in the sixth grade, more than half his class doesn’t have phones, phones are absolutely forbidden on school grounds and at school activities, and they are now doing a class trip where they were told that there’s a pay phone at the hotel, in case they want to call the parents - our son promptly informed us that he’ll rather buy a pack of Pokémon cards than call us and 3 days is not so much anyway.
And it is not only at school, he travels for tournaments with his team every other week and mobile phones are absolutely forbidden on the team bus. Children read, play games (including chess on a magnetic board), sing and change stories for hours at a time
Does the model say it can't do that when asked? No, it answers confidentely.
Also it's easy to trust it if you don't know how it works
On the other end, the cloud company had something, _by design_, that also deletes any backups if you delete the volume.
Regarding Migadu, after extensive research it seemed to be the best option, but man that 20 outgoing emails limit is just so off-putting and the next tier is so far apart. I would be comfortable paying 50-60 euros per year for 50 outgoing emails, but no, it’s either 20 for 20 euros or 100 for 90 euros
I think, devstral-latest should be it, no? So I write to support and get an answer 12 hours later that says oh, no, devstral 2 is definetely called devstral 2 and then a page of instructions on how to set it up in Intellij... generated with AI. The screens it is refering to don't exist and never did.
The problem was a broken relay, no trains were able to run for a few hours through Bonn. The official statement said that the trains have stopped and were replaced by buses.
I’ve often had the problem that I’ve needed a tool and borrowing it from Obi or similar cost more than half the price of a new one so I just bought a variant from Parkside for cheaper or similar price. Keep up the good work!
Then you go into a kafkaesque process with Amazon, who say “sure buddy, we sent you something else”, and then you have to file a police report and probably have to claw the money back which leads to the forfeiture of your account.
A good solution I’ve seen from Otto, another big eshop here in Germany is that they seal the package with tape that can’t be removed without damaging either the tape or the box and you are instructed not to accept the package if it’s been tampered with.
My last car, a Ford Focus, passed the inspections on the first try for 13 years in a row
With Amazon however, they probably have an ironclad contract, which they never break. If it says it will be delivered on a specific day, it will also happen
I was very much more intrigued about the statement that data can’t be easily/legally shared within the same agency
There was a breaking change when I updated to iOS 18, but by the time I’ve noticed that, it was already fixed in an update.
