For the record, I'm not advocating for calling any of those things rights. Simply posing a question regarding the above statements.
Generally the thought is that laws correspond to morality. Anyone who has taken one look at some knows this is not the case, but that may be where the link between "don't be evil" and "don't be criminal" come in to play.

For example, if you assume that someone will be under it for 8 hours (an employee during a work day), the OSHA approved exposure is 90dB, which will likely not be annoying enough to serve its purpose.
On that note, I don't think the memo was intended to speak for Google, but rather _to_ Google. Was it even intentionally public? Or was it leaked?
Buying from an independent seller on Amazon is similar to buying on eBay. You're taking the risk of not having the customer service that large corporations can afford.
Plus, Amazon customer support will often help out with claims where the seller is in the wrong (e.g. item does not match description).

That by no means says that force quitting all apps constantly does any good, but there are exceptions to where some apps just try to use more resources than you'd like, even when in the background.
This is a project I've been working on for a few weeks now, and want HN to be the first to try it out. It's a search engine that shows you products highly scored by reddit comments and submissions.
I had the idea by realizing that often when I'm looking to buy a product, I search through reddit to find what is most upvoted and take that into consideration. Now I built a site to do just that.
This is the first public launch of it, and there is still much work to be done. Currently, a historical build of comments is still running (about 250k done out of 500k+) so search performance may be degraded. Also, the mobile site is atrocious, so best experience is currently on desktop.
