kccoder··on 'We hacked the FBI:' Hackers say they have data on all FBI employees
My absolute favorite Trump imbecility, and there are so so so so so (so)^inf many Trump imbecilities. He’s almost impossibly dumb, just like his voters.
kccoder··on Fed hikes rates as inflation worries push up bond yields
The BBB, Iran war, and tariffs, something done solely by republicans, sometimes just the president, are the source of inflation, so you can attribute this situation mostly on Trump, and fully on republicans.
kccoder··on Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1
You can change CC's output style (https://code.claude.com/docs/en/output-styles). You can also put style notes in your global claude.md. I've instructed claude to treat me like I have adhd, get to the point, and be succinct, ... More or less eliminates the problematic prose.

I took time to figure this out after Fable spat out "...then stays purely as cascade-debugging provenance rather than load-bearing arbitration."

kccoder··on DHS is using obscure law to snoop on journalists, non-profits, unions
Why stop there? We should have RoboCops discovering evidence, robot prosecutors presenting the case to a robot grand jury, which, after charging, is immediately adjudicated by a robot judge in front of a robot jury, with the sentence to be carried out by a robot executioner. The whole thing could be done in like a day, including appeals! THINK OF THE EFFICIENCY WE COULD ACHIEVE!!!

Obviously crime would cease to exist, producing the utopia we all knew this administration would achieve! America would be HOT! So HOT!!!

When did humanity decide to stop thinking?

kccoder··on DHS is using obscure law to snoop on journalists, non-profits, unions
When dealing with an entity that constantly abuses power, it is safe to assume as the default that they are abusing their power in every situation. The administration is evil, filled with evil people committing evil acts against humanity every single day. It is best to assume all of their acts are a form of abuse.

They are the domestic terrorists, not Don Lemon.

kccoder··on DHS is using obscure law to snoop on journalists, non-profits, unions
Not less than a year. This has been in the works for a very, very long time. They needed six seats on the Supreme Court, a decades long propaganda machine to produce a population scared, hateful, and malinformed enough to elect such an obvious empathy lacking charlatan as president, …

Fascism happens slow at first, then all at once. Sadly, that’s where we find ourselves.

kccoder··on Trump signs order to rename Lake Ontario as 'Lake America'
So refreshing to see a president who knows what the people really want and is brave enough to venture into uncharted waters to achieve those goals. Kamala would never have had the courage to address such an important issue, as a matter of fact she wouldn't even have started a trade war with Canada to take back what is ours(!), which is what led to this heroic act to protect our land, people, national pride, and prosperity from the rabid communists which we currently allow sovereignty just a stones throw across the Lake of America (eagle cry). You and your family can feel secure at night knowing that we have a president who will fight, fight, fight for you and your loved ones. America was already the hottest country in the world, but the temp just keeps on rising! How does he do it?!

Embarrassing.

kccoder··on US House of Representatives takes step to make daylight saving time permanent
One thing I'll never understand is why we shift the clocks at 2am on Sunday vs Saturday? Why not give people twice the number of days to adjust???? Seems like that would reduce some of the harms of the shift.

Personally, I'd prefer permanent standard time.

kccoder··on Justice Dept. Is Said to Open Criminal Inquiry of E. Jean Carroll
And even fewer would vote for him today vs Nov 2024. He's at ~39% approval at this point. So, I disagree with the comment above which said that most americans voted for / support this.
kccoder··on Trump admin drawing up plans to stop processing intl flights in sanctuary cities
That's a fantastically stupid idea which will irritate untold number of people, raising the price of flights even more, likely negatively affecting airlines bottom line. If they keep it up perhaps they can kill off a few more airlines in addition to Spirit. I sincerely hope they follow through with this absurdity and implement it prior to the world cup. The faster they make things worse, especially for absolutely no reason, the more likely they are to be pummeled in the midterms, which is a win for every sane person in this country.
kccoder··on Justice Department announces a $1.7B fund to compensate Trump allies
They'd immediately reject/ignore any such claims.
kccoder··on Sam Altman's Business Dealings Under GOP Scrutiny Ahead of OpenAI's IPO
Their ineffectiveness at reducing the debt doesn't indicate the changes they made didn't have an outsized effect on many lives. USAID for example.
kccoder··on US companies enabled brutal mass detention and surveillance in China [video]
This seems a rather vile line of commentary. Kinda shocked to see it here. Perhaps you’d like to say what you actually want to say? Why do you suppose this white/non-white disparity exists? Do you believe it is genetic? Cultural? Perhaps there are other factors?

Gross.

kccoder··on US inflation jumps to 3.8% as energy costs surge from Iran war
Renewables being a good thing is not an "extreme left" viewpoint, it's just reality. That being said, I'm going to guess that extreme left supports renewables near 100%.
kccoder··on Grok 4.3
> Elon has publicly stated that he cares a great deal about safety.

Elon lies more often than he tells the truth; why would you believe anything he says, especially if what he is saying indicates concern for anybody else's well being? He doesn't care about other people and likely is incapable of doing so.

kccoder··on Minutes before Trump's announcement, $800M in trades made on oil prices
Personally, I blame the abuser over the abused. He has created an environment of extreme anxiety for many because of his words AND actions. The man is unhinged and prone to following his various whims, telegraphed or not, so, who can blame people panicking when a chaos monkey is loose in the house?

My viewpoint is that Trump ALWAYS behaves in a fashion that he BELIEVES will benefit him the most. Often times he is wrong, but short-term financial gains, he's pretty good at, so him abusing the market with BS to make a quick giant pile of cash fits him perfectly well, which makes him semi-predictable. He knows how to manipulate others into buying/selling, so that's what happens. It's the one skill he has, bullshitting guillable / fearful people.

kccoder··on Oil and gas prices jump after Iran and Israel attack gasfields
Nothing more than him being president when gas prices were high.
kccoder··on Noem Can't Explain Why She Hired 8-Day-Old Company for Ad Campaign
Impeaching without conviction won't do jack. We need 67 senators to convict. I honestly don't know what it would take for that many rep senators to vote to convict.
kccoder··on SCOTUS rules USPS can't be sued, even when mail is intentionally not delivered
> Justice Clarence Thomas, writing for a majority of five conservative justices, said the federal law that generally shields the Postal Service from lawsuits over missing, lost and undelivered mail includes “the intentional nondelivery of mail.”

Sooooo the entire postal service could just decide to not deliver any mail at all and that's a-okay? How about stealing the contents of mail and keeping/selling them? How about opening mail and stealing valuable information and then not delivering it? How about deliberately not delivering mail ballots to/fro the voter (this is the real real this is happening, and destroying USPS)?

kccoder··on Trump's global tariffs struck down by US Supreme Court
Presumably you're not a admin cabinet member or related to one or have inside info from those in the cabinet, which is the key differentiator.
kccoder··on White House launches direct-to-consumer drug site TrumpRx
That won’t matter. Hypocrisy is a given.
kccoder··on White House launches direct-to-consumer drug site TrumpRx
The correct default position with this admin is bad faith and/or malice.

If you were developing this site wouldn’t you just develop a formula to calculate the discount? Hate to that’s a typo unless you didn’t do any testing.

Luckily we are able to tos\ spot lazy bs here.

kccoder··on US Justice Department releasing more than three million pages from Epstein files
This document is full of all kinds of vile behavior by several men, including Trump (forced oral and penetration on 13-14 yo girls, ...). Hopefully this file was widely downloaded because this file no longer exists on the site.
kccoder··on Tesla ending Models S and X production
> I wouldn’t be too surprised if robotaxi replaces 90% of taxis and Ubers in the next 5-7 years

I'd bet a kidney that doesn't happen.

kccoder··on Tesla ending Models S and X production
He didn't specify the year.
kccoder··on Tesla ending Models S and X production
Also, if you compare the entire model line up sales, Tesla isn't even in the top ten in sales. Tesla could disappear entirely and the car industry wouldn't even notice.
kccoder··on Tesla kills Autopilot, locks lane-keeping behind $99/month fee
I'm going to go with the fool being followed. At least the following fool realizes that they need guidance, but just chose the wrong leader.
kccoder··on DOGE improperly accessed and shared Social Security data
> but regardless we shouldn't be trying imply that intending to overturn elections in cases of fraud is bad in and of itself

The only rational viewpoint is to assume everything this administration does is in bad faith, until proven otherwise.

kccoder··on U.S. Formally Withdraws from World Health Organization
The voluntary rapid disassembly of the world’s largest superpower, which is home to most large tech companies, seems very relevant, even without the tech component. I mean how often do you get to witness something like this?
