> If we execute these measures well, I believe they would slow China’s progress enough to widen America’s lead significantly over the next 3–5 years — the window when AI becomes geopolitically most important.
china is literally making their own ASICs now, not sure that this is the silver bullet he proposes.

pacing between the us labs? what does that do for china?
the solutions just aren’t realistic here, nations are treating ai like a nuclear arms race. at this point the cats out of the bag and we need to figure out how to live in this reality and get the best possible outcome. it’s not slowing down or stopping ever.
and yes, i’m still optimistic. our economy sucks for the majority, our infrastructure is crumbling and major US cities are in a huge housing shortage. Maybe we should put more effort and think about the possibility of AI fixing things like extreme poverty and world hunger and actual real world problems instead of coming up with math proofs and slop apps if it’s so superintelligent.
imagine paying someone to buy your own information to spy on you, pretty incredible system that we've come up with
But yeah, I think a lot of food is just practicing. And if possible, learn from someone who's food you do really like, and experiment. Just try making some dish you really liked, you'll be surprised at how far you can get.
look at the overflowing dumpsters and abandoned bikes in reno. even some people just dumping trash at random peoples homes. think of the amount of diesel burned in generators, trucks hauling tons of steel, shipping containers for camps, just so people can party in the middle of nowhere.

they literally say you will pay large fees in those cases. it’s basically self insuring.
doesn't surprise me that people are trying to get their dollars to stretch further by buying in bulk, planning ahead more consciously, etc.
it’s actually incredibly disappointing, because 99% of people are just gonna get the gray, and will be unhappy because it’s super boring.
real manufactures like porsche or bmw offer a ton of shades too, it just costs a lot, but they are very popular.
the economy needs to get a whole lot better before i would even consider something like this looking true. human demands are wildly elastic, which is why we’re not all farmers riding around in horse drawn carriages still.

also, the first reader comment literally says:
“Vaping hasn’t been shown to be unsafe scientifically“
interest rates for construction loans, reduced funding, labor and material costs, all contribute to the amount of housing built.
there is a bond being debated in the ca senate now that will help by giving loans for construction.

But i respect the idea and it seems to be executed decently well
3. this is like saying the average person doesn’t have the skill to run gta over wine on their linux box. gaming consoles exist.
