It looks like GitHub's tree-sitter powered code navigation is no longer maintained: https://github.com/github/stack-graphs

jupblb··on I failed a take-home assignment from Kagi Search
I agree. The company should have either published clear guidelines on how the project would be assessed or provided some feedback on what could have been done better. It's okay to fail an assignment, but it's not acceptable to waste someone's time without offering anything in return. There are many companies, including pop startups, that handle this well.
jupblb··on I failed a take-home assignment from Kagi Search
The problem in the story is not that the candidate was rejected but that the process is largely disrespectful by asking for a lot of unpaid time to implement some project without clear guidelines or giving valuable feedback.
jupblb··on British Columbia has banned self-driving vehicles that exceed Level 2
Did they? Can you share the source of this information?

jupblb··on Ask HN: Could you share your personal blog here?
I'm a bit late to the party but here's my little corner in the internet: https://jupblb.prose.sh/
jupblb··on Can Dell’s 6K monitor beat their 8K monitor?
It's because a smaller screen with the same (high) resolution means higher pixel density and smaller pixel size. It's something noticeably more expensive to manufacture.
jupblb··on 75% of the Most Played Games on Steam Are Playable on the Steam Deck
I have the same issue with my Steam Deck but didn't have the time to Google it. Thank you for saving me these few minutes!
jupblb··on Ueberzug Is Not Maintained
The author "decided to archive all stuff related to this project due to people not being able to comprehend that publishing an open source project does not mean that a person is willing to spend their free time on the problems of others."

jupblb··on Ask HN: Alternate Email hosting to G Suite
I use Migadu on a daily basis and the experience is absolutely incredible. The UX is very satisfying: everything is well described, it's a simple website and seems to just work. It serves a bit as a buffer for all my email traffic so I can use any client I like (even redirect to gmail if need be). The pricing looks reasonable to me. Overall I can highly recommend this.
jupblb··on How to make Linux run fast again on Intel CPUs
Big thanks for making the website. I stumbled upon it a few days ago and I'm pretty happy that somebody pointed my attention towards this.

The parameter list could be even reduced to fewer elements as mitigations=off covers nopti, nospectre_v1, nospectre_v2, l1tf=off, nospec_store_bypass_disable and mds=off.[1]

jupblb··on Slack’s Shares Plunge After It Predicts a Larger Loss
It's very unlikely considering they thought about doing that a few years ago.[0] I don't think they'll rapidly push forward with adding features characteristic for Slack as well. Teams is just yet another corporate tool that is easy to sell to existing customers of Office 365.

jupblb··on A mathematician's way of converting miles to kilometers
So n * (1-0.5) * (1-0.1)... This could also work for miles to km conversion in a similar way: n * (1+0.5) * (1+0.1). Not as accurate as golden ratio but still acceptable. :D

Personally, I prefer something more lightweight and for some time I've been using gogs - https://github.com/gogits/gogs (so far so good)
