if this weighed 1.7 lbs, i’d buy it today. still waiting for a successor to the 12” macbook.

Yet somehow adaptive cruise is a rarity on the BMWs out there, often requiring an option package that few dealers spec. (Though I think this may be finally starting to change with the 2025 model year).

speaking of social media with constraints, Minus (100 posts for life) is still around at https://minus.social

An hour is much more than I can do. I want to play in VR, but every time I try again I regret it. And it only takes about 15 minutes for the pain to start (and a couple days at least to subside). I really truly love playing Beat Saber, but I just can't ever let myself do it again (until and unless headsets get dramatically lighter).

this argument is long past its prime. hamburger menus are here. they have been here. and they aren’t going anywhere. could it have been better? probably. could it be still? maybe. will it change today? no.

I just checked and my account shows posts and replies from 2002-2014. 2014 is about 2 years after I bought my last non-smartphone camera (I bought a Panasonic GH2 in 2011 or 2012). As much as I love high-quality photography, I've been able to make do with my iPhone ever since.

So in that sense it's not surprising to see dpreview go away, as I am likely similar to many others in my changing habits. But I really hate that it's going offline. So much knowledge is captured in those forums -- not just specs and tech but technique and ideas. What a shame. Wish it was staying up but dormant.

so cool. would love to see this fit into a slightly larger footprint such as my square gshock tough solar (5610)

The linked post suggests that AI art started in 2015 (what it labels as "early forms of AI art"). AI art goes back decades--it didn't start with Google. Perhaps the author might want to look a bit further back than seven years.

i paused the download and renamed the file to .jpeg and it worked similarly

The evidence isn't yet in for immunity persistence post-booster, with Pfizer or Moderna. There's a chance that immunity wanes less quickly with the booster's 6 month+ window vs the original 2nd shot's 3 week window. Of course, if a mutation evades the vaccine's design then it doesn't matter much, but for the moment I'm hopeful that 5 months out from a booster is still a relatively high protection %.
