Here are my prediction for the next 5-10 years.
1. Autonomous cars will be common, and they will have hive minds as AI progresses. 2. Governments around the world will look different, as AI will supplant politicians as representatives (probably in late decade). 3. Banking systems will crash and bartering will occur in the first half of the decade. It will change to adapt usage of cryptocurrency. 4. Blockchain will be part of the internet infrastructure. AI personas will exist as butlers for people, these personas are actual replica of their personalities. 5. Robotics will replace most jobs such as waiters and cashiers. Some of these robots will be monitored or operated by one or two persons. That job will require higher tech education/degrees.
(I have 5 more but it's not related to tech, lol).
I often feel bad when I open a package and see extraneous crap that will just be thrown out. Our garbage will outlive us all. There is no need for that!
Arianna Huffington was right. Sleep is absolutely necessary. In addition, some people require only 4-5 hours of sleep, others like myself require 7-8 hours to be "good". Getting a FitBit to track my sleep has also been helpful. Just because I sleep on time, does not mean I have "enough" sleep. Most of us don't fall asleep until 1-hour after we lay our heads. And in addition, most of us do not get enough "deep sleep."
In addition, after I started tracking sleep, I realize caffeine has been detrimental to getting "deep sleep." I often switch to decaf or go cold turkey to help my body detox from caffeine.
Manhattan has become an unaffordable ghost town. Walk down West Village, Union Sq, Flatiron, etc.., you see rows of closed stores that have gone vacant for a very long time now. In contrast, I was in London recently and that city was thriving compared to Manhattan, it was lively and beautiful.
In addition, NYC Subway and transportation is a disgrace. It is on its way to becoming a third-world country equivalent. This was due to mismanagement and corruption. You won't notice how Manhattan has deteriorated until you leave the U.S. and visit other cities in Europe and especially Asia. Even Thailand's subway system is a hell of a lot better than the NYC subway.
The world is NOT getting worse, it is getting better. The news is only picking up issues that sell, and fear and devastation sell, just like sex.
Solving global warming -- let's start with being mindful of our carbon footprint. I'd love to see every car on the road to be driverless, electric cars in the future. I think we are on our way.
In any case, don't read the news. Read books instead.

With this current administration (Trumpy and previous administrations before him) have been ignoring this swamp-filled problem. So much so that in August, the current administration added $214 billion to the deficit.
We are on our way to adding $1 trillion a year to this country's deficit. $1 trillion is an insane number: http://www.pagetutor.com/trillion/index.html
We are now over a 105.4% Debt-to-GDP ratio. If you as a citizen make $1 and spends $2, you're officially bankrupt! The U.S. government can measure all it wants, but we cannot continue to ignore the current situation. The reason Trump got elected in the first place was that his constituents thought he would be the man to address the "swamp." But nope.
If we want to fix the system, let's start by taking a hard look at corporations and stripping down their privileges.
I recommend Stephen Covey's book: 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The whole book is excellent. Start with Habit 1: Be Proactive.
Seek to be 100% responsible for everything you do and currently have. Do not blame others or situations, take full responsibility. For when you blame others, you give them control.
Becoming proactive means becoming highly accountable, subordinating your impulses for your real values. The opposite of this is "Reactive" which is when one is swept away by externalities, the heat of the moment. This habit will hopefully kick-start your life.
Watch, listen or read stuff that motivates and uplifts you. And keep on doing it every day.
Try to motivate yourself every day and find what works. This quote sums up what motivation is, it is not something that is only done once:
"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily." - Zig Ziglar
I bet this is just another pump and dump startup.
