jonesy827··on Apple and a hacker's future
>These permission prompts are a part of a macOS subsystem called Transparency, Consent, and Control (TCC), although Apple doesn’t seem to use this name anymore.

I have a PiKVM on my Mac Mini for this reason, and I bet the author would be well served by one as well.

jonesy827··on Apple has added persistent 'ads' to iOS, and it's driving users crazy
Yes, it does work with Fairydust, but you do need to use a USB-C cable in place of the included thunderbolt cable at the moment.

HDMI out works great on M1 and M2 chips, and DP alt mode output is nearly ready, and works if you compile an experimental kernel. I daily drive an Asahi Linux ALARM M1 Pro macbook, and I have almost zero complaints.
jonesy827··on Asahi Linux on M3
The Asahi installer does this automatically, it guides you through sizing. You run it in a macOS terminal. By default, Asahi will be the default boot option, and to get to macOS you hold the power button on boot until it says "Loading startup options..."

I have two M1 pro asahi macbooks, and I only use macOS for VirtualDJ or AirPlay.

Unless you run overnight, you could schedule a cron job to send a basic claude -p prompt such as "reply with hello" using haiku to align your usage windows. That's what I do.
jonesy827··on Ornith-1.5: From Self-Scaffolding to Self-Improvement
I've been using the 35B-A3B today for some web scraping work, and it has been on par with Qwen3.8 27B at a much higher speed and at a higher quant (q4 vs q8). I'm impressed.

Cool idea!

jonesy827··on Agent-Manager: A Tmux TUI for Running Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode
I started using herdr last night, and was able to get a workflow I've wanted to set up for a while working, which is to be able to talk to a managing agent in my car and check on / update claude sessions. It uses Telnyx SIP and LiveKit cloud, and I'm using Qwen3.6 35B-A3B quite successfully as the voice layer router. It's still very early but it works quite well.

If you decide to try it out, please make sure to read the security implications. There is no sandboxing added as of yet, and guardrails are pretty minimal.

It's still erroring in Firefox on macOS and Windows. I see a CORS error on the XHR request
