As an ergo keyboard idiot, what are the advantages of the concave key well? I've seen more people using it recently, but have no idea what the advantage of that is.
So they bought a machine from a brand they have never heard of off AliExpress to save a little money, and it was infected with malware. Color me surprised...
I know all my children under the age of 4 (3 of them) are able to receive a flu vaccine though. I would assume quite a few parents are doing the same. So not quite apples to apples. That being said the risk to children that age for COVID is quite low, and I would not be shutting down schools or even forcing masks. Those are important to development of children especially since it disproportionally affects low income children. So I agree that the risk of COVID to children is small, and extreme measures should not be taken. My only issue was comparing two things that probably cannot fairly be compared.
So that link you sent says there is 12.6 instances per million doses. So that is 0.00126% chance of happening. This article from March mentions around 22 per 100,000 chance from getting COVID. Much larger incidence rate.

Now obviously might not be the same age ranges or such, but I do know last year the Big-10 almost cancelled it's football season due to myocarditis risk from COVID so clearly it has been an issue for a while. Might need to weigh that in the decision you make for your children. Too many people look for one side and use that to prove their point otherwise know as confirmation bias. I would study the incidence of both sides of this before making the decision. Although my children are less than 5 so they can't get it yet anyway.
Pretty sure we don't understand the long term risk of getting COVID either right? I mean it has not even been around for 2 years. Plus we do know it is possible only 1 infection would kill you.
The goal of most politicians from either party is to pit Americans against each other instead of against the corrupt system. This way the politicians and the actual ruling class (billionaires and corporations) can keep their power all while making it seem like the other team is the true enemy. Unfortunately Americans are buying it hook, line and sinker.
> The reliance on a three button mouse, which makes it impossible to use Plan 9 on a modern laptop without finagling with modifier keys (no, I don't want to go back to using a mouse, thanks).
Honestly, if the decision to not get a vaccine because you are young and healthy only affected you then your argument would make sense. Why are there laws against drunk driving? It isn't to solely protect the driver from injuring themselves correct?
Edit: BTW I do not support mandated COVID vaccination. I just wish more people would think of the societal good instead of "muh freedoms" when making choices. Especially when certain side effects of vaccines actually happen at a higher incidence rate from getting COVID then from the vaccine (I.E. myocarditis).
I am a person who did that swap on my T480s with the glass trackpad. It is glorious. Easy to do and cannot recommend enough. Also very much satisfied with the T480s and I am a notorious laptop hopper. Although the System76's with Coreboot are starting to creep into my mind, but I know the quality will not be near that of the Lenovo.
I was hoping for an affordable competitor to the Remarkable, but seems like it is just a competitor not necessarily affordable like a lot of the other Pine products. Not to say it won't be great or it is a bad thing, but had my hopes up when I saw the title. I cannot justify spending that amount for that type of product. Again not a knock as it is nice to see them get into this market just not what I thought when I originally saw that title.
Okay so a case fatality rate of 1.65% is fine with you, but a 0.003% chance of Myocarditis is not okay? Yes another difference is COVID is easily spread through the air amongst people so yeah it is much worse than a slow growing tumor you are correct.
Do you also realize the disease has only been around for maybe around 2 years at most? So we really have no long term data on effects from getting COVID naturally either. Considering we have plenty of data on other vaccines being quite safe in the long term. I would rather play that game than the "I am relatively healthy so I'll risk getting a deadly disease" I am aware I could still get COVID while vaccinated, but I also know that the chances of getting serious illness while vaccinated are much much lower than if I wasn't.
Are you saying you didn't get vaccinated and have yet to get COVID so your strategy is working? Or you already got COVID but it wasn't serious so it is working? Either way it seems like saying "I've been smoking all my life and never got cancer. Not sure why everyone is so worried about smoking."
I have OpenBSD on my Thinkpad T480s and pretty much everything worked great out of the box. Even something like the Volume buttons that on Linux with DWM I had to manually map to amixer they just work. Of course there are some trade-offs. Bluetooth is a big one that might not work for people. Overall compared to FreeBSD the setup was dead simple with hardly any work. I know people complain about speed on OBSD, but I have not noticed it being that much slower. I am in love and don't see myself hopping again for a while (famous last words obviously).
From what I can tell from the official VS Code site by Microsoft they no where say that it is a fully open source piece of software. Infact they say "Free. Built on Open Source. Runs Everywhere" So they are saying it is "Built on Open Source" which means something completely different to me.
I wasn't saying it was a failure, but that it is hard to call it a success. Again I think we will need to wait a while to determine true successes or failures (although I think here in the US it is trending towards being a tremendous failure).
The problem is they had a higher death rate than the neighbors on the same timeline. Oh and their economy also suffered just as bad as neighbors who locked down. Not sure how it could be a success with more deaths and everything else being the same.
So what oh what could the government do to alleviate the issues from lockdown? Weird they could give the PEOPLE of the country the bailout money. They could extend the the unemployment credit. Unfortunately they are not thinking in that manner and it will lead to a huge depression which could cause those issues you are mentioning. Although I would like it see some actual stats that say "suicides, poverty, crime, and violence" are actually more deadly than the disease. If people in the United States had been a little less selfish (or didn't think of this as a politics game) maybe we wouldn't still be deep in the midst of the first wave of this with many states losing any progress they made. Our leadership in Washington (all of it not just POTUS) has failed us just to keep the stock market high and all their cronies rich while the rest of us suffer.
That would be great if children under 14 then didn't have any interaction with anyone over the age of 14. So while it is good that kids are not dying at the same rate as others it doesn't mean they shouldn't be tested or doing the same things everyone else is to prevent the spread.
I recently deleted TikTok from my phone. I didn't have it for too long, and until the recent press I had no idea it was a Chinese app. Honestly, I understand companies will mine my data, but I have an issue with those companies being forced to submit my data to the Chinese government on a whim. And it was really all the same thing. People doing the same skits or dances. Most of which were just chicks doing it in bikinis to get more views and likes.
Am I missing something or is this pretty much Gitflow with develop being named master and master named production? Maybe I don't fully understand Gitflow or we are using it like Gitlab Flow already with different names.
