jfeldstein2··on Nevada approves regulations for self-driving cars
You wouldn't buy a car, you'd just order a ride when you needed it, and the car would come pick you up. Think Zipcar
jfeldstein2··on Airbrake acquired by Exceptional
How will the acquisition affect the release of the much-needed javascript exception tracking upgrades?
jfeldstein2··on Google is FUBAR
Seems to me google search results are the same as ever, they just put a G+ widget on the side and Twitter and Facebook peeps are upset they weren't included so they're calling it "evil".
jfeldstein2··on Best approach for self-taught developer looking for job?
Use the same approach that works well for classically trained engineers:

Make something good, keep learning. Then show you are doing both of these.

Hired.

jfeldstein2··on Ridejoy (YC S11): Make Some Dough On Your Next Roadtrip
A handful of my friends used this to get rides to burning man. Worked like a charm, and really saved the day.
jfeldstein2··on Facebook Timeline
This is a very nice thing to have, if it were detailed enough that I could scan it and reminisce.

But if it were that detailed, I wouldn't want it made public.

Can we timeline privately?

jfeldstein2··on Ask HN: What do people do with the code from failed startups?
Make sure you learned from it while you were writing it. Then it never completely goes away.
jfeldstein2··on Facebook's "Listen w/ Friends" Feature is Coming Today
Facebook's best bet at nailing social music today is to

- Be easy - Work well - Make people feel a connection between themselves and their friends, through the music they have in common.

jfeldstein2··on Show HN: Thoughtback - perfect for saving your thoughts and getting them back
Why return thoughts randomly?
jfeldstein2··on [dead]
We definitely are. =^]
jfeldstein2··on Google+ Notifications Chrome Extension
In case these notifications and their related emails weren't able to distract you often enough.
jfeldstein2··on Open source remakes of games you're still loving
They are... this by far the top reason to ever get an ipad.
jfeldstein2··on Open source remakes of games you're still loving
How would you feel about a Myst / Riven clone for touch devices?
jfeldstein2··on Google's Street View starts mapping India
You know they developed self-driving cars for a reason, right?
jfeldstein2··on Achieving Goals Like a Mad Klingon
There's a RadioLab episode where they explore this type of self-discipline (among other things). When a woman wanted to finally quit smoking, she told her friend that if she ever smoked again, the friend should take $5,000 out of her bank account and give it to the KKK. She couldn't bear the thought of her money supporting that group, and she never smoked again.

Edit: Here's the episode http://www.radiolab.org/2011/mar/08/ It's really quite good, like most RadioLabs.

jfeldstein2··on Amazon Cloud Drive and Amazon Cloud Player
There's an "upload your own mp3's" feature. I think this means I can stop waiting for google music.

Except:

> You have 5.0 GB of Cloud Drive storage. Upload your entire music collection.

I don't think this is going to work...

jfeldstein2··on Killing Email: How and Why I Ditched My Inbox
Came here to post the same. The problem has more to do with how he uses online communication than with any particular tool.
jfeldstein2··on Like.fm (YC W11) Is A Social Network For Tracking Songs
Why all the custom extensions/tracking software, and emphasis on compatibility with the last.fm api when you could get the same data by just pulling from last.fm?

Data ownership, maybe, but it also felt like a very heavy onboarding process. "Welcome! Now install these two browser widgets and some desktop client..."

jfeldstein2··on [dead]
Oh, you're the guys who posted: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2043422

Not what I was expecting from you, but this is pretty cool, too!

jfeldstein2··on YCPages - List of Y Combinator companies, founders and jobs with statistics
Been looking for something like this. Any way to browse by niche/tag/business model?
jfeldstein2··on Show HN: Pen.io
Me too.
jfeldstein2··on Favorite design books (Irene Au - Google Head of UX)
I'm not sure what Au may or may not have been responsible for, but the Android tablet is the first time I've been wow'd by a Google UX. I'd be more interested in seeing Matias Duarte's picks.
jfeldstein2··on Trimensional: 3D Scanner for iPhone
Can't wait until someone pipes this into a reprap.
jfeldstein2··on Show HN my christmas project: Focus.app, cut off your Internet so you can focus
My computer comes with this built in: http://cl.ly/3sRk
jfeldstein2··on Paypal alternatives
Funny that it includes amazon payments..

Oh, and there's also wepay.com

jfeldstein2··on Mobile messes up the lean startup seed funding economics
I think he means something like, "Why not build a simple webapp that prints out a users schedule, that they can view on any phone, and can save as an icon if their phone supports that (iphone)"

It solves the problem you're trying to solve, requires minimal effort and is cross platform.
