We shouldn't let this be the norm, these employees complaining or those who quit are angry that their "inferior" coworkers are getting the same wages.

So far I must say cycles is pretty great
On the consumer side of things, flash is not so bad. Sure search engines couldn't read it but there is amazing content generated through it. The content is,what matters and unfortunately the Web is littered with abusive flash objects auto playing videos, audio, full screen ads and those won't simply go away with flash.
At least with flash I can easily disable it. But those auto playing html5 videos and audios ads are just as annoying. Now I need plug ins to disable native capability.
It's only a matter of time until all ads move to the medium and we find ourselves complaining.
I also tried it on an older HTC Evo and it simply crashed.
You don't have to play the game. Do things at your pace. A lot of things you read about the successes is not entirely true. It is very common for the media to exaggerate the sexy parts. Every start up story is a revolutionary until you see them throw in the towel a few month later.
Do things at your own pace, as long as you do something.
Then I was given the chance to work on a project on my own from scratch. It was the most beautiful architecture I ever implemented. 30 deadline later, and the stress of the real world, every single new feature was so hard to add because they couldn't all be abstracted to just in case we used it more than once.
Now I had no one to blame. Today, I hard code things and don't feel bad about it because I know it doesn't matter until it matters. I can only imagine all the time I would have saved if I had this mentality in the beginning.
For two weeks I had half the speed, I called them many times and got disconnected. I couldn't stay on the line for 45 minutes on a work day. When I finally got a hold of them, they apologized and fixed the issue. They promised me a free month of service. That's where things got interesting.
Maybe it was a bug, but every month, I got credit instead of a bill. So every month I was getting -20 dollars. A whole year passed. I never complained. If it was a good company I would report it. A year and a half into it, it was fixed. I got a call to ask me if I was paying my bill.
I answered "totally"
In other words this is good news for the next outbreak

If there is something that slows down WordPress it's the database queries, the amount of external assets and bloated themes. There are more then files being downloaded for each requests and all served from the same server.
Throw in hhvm or any optimization on the code and you still have to deal with the other issues.
Looks like some people use that same 2 weeks time to do far more important things.
This mentality fires back quickly and is usually a trait of someone who haven't thought it through yet.

Not to say that school is useless, I loved learning. But I knew that the computer science degree I was working towards wouldn't make much a difference in the field I was hoping to work in.
Going to school should be an investment. It is too bad that most of us are too young to understand the risk we take when taking loans or choosing an education path.
