jessor··on How (and Why) to Stop Multitasking
I'm still working on this, too. Read the classic NADD description: http://randsinrepose.com/archives/2003/07/10/nadd.html if you don't know it yet ;)
jessor··on Your Alternate Resume
That' a great tip, thank you.
jessor··on Clarifying SourceForge.net’s denial of site access for certain persons
Ouch. They're pretty big, but blocking certain countries and persons just doesn't read well with the foss philosophy.

If they can't work around the issue there'll probably be a successor soon.

jessor··on Icons for your web apps
Try iconlet (CC, GPL, Free): http://iconlet.com/advancedsearch
jessor··on New UK govt to curb CCTV, scrap ID cards, help open source
Sounds too good to be true. But if it really happens, it would be interesting to see how other governments react to one of the biggest surveillance supporting countries changing their policies this radically.
jessor··on [dead]
I love how the characters developed.

Only a few days left until Lost ends. Living with it since 2004, it'll be like losing a good friend.

jessor··on M.I.A.'s album "/\/\/\Y/\" is ungoogleable
It's quite a problem. I'd really appreciate if google could just let me search for strings i put in quotes exactly the way they are.

Recently I wanted to google stuff about the windowmanager i3. It was quite difficult, even with queries like "i3 windowmanger".

jessor··on How secure is flash? Here's what Adobe won't tell you
For those who are interested in flash security, FX gave a nice talk about that on the last chaos communication congress: http://media.ccc.de/browse/congress/2009/26c3-3494-de-defend...
jessor··on Getting Started With Toto, a Tiny WordPress Killer
I can feel your pain. I've recently begun doing projects with wordpress which require several custom queries and own code. I'm pretty sure there's a better platform for those "advanced cms needs", but, hell, wordpress is still just so convenient.

Also, the "future incompatibility" is not that bad with wordpress, just look out for "deprecated" in the source.

jessor··on Crapmania
I think the name might just work great because of that tongue-in-cheek.
jessor··on HN is getting too big
Noticed this, too.

The way I keep up with it is using google reader to star (mark) stories over the day and reading them when i get the chance.

I'm not sure sub HNs are the answer just now since I'd need to subscribe to pretty much all of them to not miss good content.

jessor··on Most pirates say they'd pay for legal downloads
Not to say that I'm a pirate cough, but I do think there's a lot of money to make from the usual media pirate.

For instance, I find myself buying from bandcamp a lot lately and if there were a good platform to watch my favorite series DRM-free I'd gladly pay. I like to think that others would, too. (I don't live in the US).

Personally I think DRM is one of the biggest cause of the "problems" the industry is having.

jessor··on Open Standard Media Player (HTML5, jQuery)
Looks great, too. Thanks.
jessor··on I Think Facebook Just Seized Control Of The Internet
Depressingly enough, I don't see this happening.
jessor··on Ask HN: From what countries do people use HN beside USA?
Germany, ayee!
jessor··on Songbird Drops Support For Linux
Clementine looks promising but isn't quite there yet. I'm pretty happy with Quodlibet for now but will keep Clementine and the Songbird Fork on my radar.
jessor··on Songbird Drops Support For Linux
Yea, not as bad as it sounds at first.

The linux support was always kind of bad and now the route is free for a community build/fork. I understand it is already on its way, see http://talksongbird.com/node/19.

jessor··on Don't Blame Your Community: Ad Blocking Is Not Killing Any Sites
hu? i don't see why i would create that impression. if my comment was too short, i apologize. the article just expressed my thoughts on the topic and i wanted to state that.
jessor··on Don't Blame Your Community: Ad Blocking Is Not Killing Any Sites
finally! this was the post on the ad blocking topic i was waiting for.
jessor··on Check out my side project: I rewrote rxvt in javascript
congratulations, that's an awesome idea. i look forward to seeing it improve.
jessor··on JobSpice (YC S09) Makes Resumes Web Friendly, With A Facebook Co-Founder
