Goroutine leaks in prod are no laughing matter. They are difficult to debug without killing the process, and that's only useful if you are sure you're going to get stderr to get the full traces of all goroutines.
It is only because Huggingface is complicit in the AI bubble that they let OpenAI off the hook. The Australian government is unlikely to turn a blind eye.
But Oracle probably deleted then so you'll have to find them on archive.org.
Usually, if I dig into something that's not being done by others it's because it is no one's job. And by the rule of "he who touched it last owns it" (a stupid and destructive default rule that exists even in otherwise excellent organizations), I end up owning a bunch of old crap no one wants to touch.
Tradeoffs are a bitch, bitch.
My sister took me to the employee store, and even at 50% off the price/quality is a rip off.
Youth football is a plague on children. My other children were smart enough to choose tennis and horses. I'm counting the games until my son realizes football is cesspool and asks to do literally anything else.
Welcome to the back of the line. We have cookies, at least. :)
I recently went thru a rough period triggered by how my spouse was feeling. If you've both always counted on having the other ready to listen, and that's temporarily impossible for acute reasons, the shock is enormous, and almost undermined my problem solving ability to understand I needed to find a psychologist to talk to.
We're ok now, but it could have easily gotten way worse before it got better. Having a solid relationship is unfortunately not a protection from losing the security it gives you, psychologically.
(Don't shoot the messenger, just trying out Tangram for the first time.)
I know a guy who says he's supposed to handle traffic for a guy who's NIC signed a message saying he owns a whole /19. I've got receipts (RPKI).
So, umm ok, I'm going to need you to just give me all his traffic, ummm, ok?
Basically it's duct tape, bailing wire, spit... and crypto. What could possibly go wrong?
I <3 you HN, never change.
I have worked on high stakes crypto code. Getting it right requires a level of knowledge, care and engineering conservativism that is very hard to come by. I was teaching students. I wasn't gatekeeping. But a vanishingly small percentage of them were able to make secure software, or analyze existing code to know if it was secure.
In as much as AI coding makes testing or code verification cheaper, sure let's use it. But cryptography engineering is hard for reasons that are not "write moar code" and so AI coding should not be used on production crypto work.
MeteoSwiss has an app, which sends geo-specific weather alerts, using the normal handheld notification system. You opt-in by installing it. Simple. No nonsense.
I'm so lucky to have competent bureaucrats.
