Technology has been exploding at a remarkable rate, I'm fine with things slowing a little for the sake of the next 1000 years of humanity.
It's similar to reflux but in es6.
I commend him for addressing these issues in addition to other global issues, http://blog.samaltman.com/china, and I think we need to organize as a community to address these things. I almost view it is as similar to when the constitution was being written in the US. There were an immense amount of factors at play but they organized to pull together some sense of structure to guide society in a better direction. Now we are writing the constitution of technology in a sense.
The problem is that we still have a system that has the government and politics writing the major rules, while some of the biggest influencers on society's future will be technology. I think we need to own this fact as a community and start to work towards something to structure our growth and the impact it will have.
For instance, will Huffington Post have issues later for starting to not care about the quality of their posts? Maybe.
If I was throwing a convention, I would want the best and the brightest 30+ year olds for wisdom/experience reasons. And since everyone agrees that males dominated the space in the last 15 years, why would it even make sense for there to be a higher percentage of females presenting?
Should we punish these brilliant people (it's quite the collection of intelligence) because they were born in a certain era? I mean we could, but that would just bring us in another equally bad direction.
I actually use backbone and react right now and love it. I also thought flux was too much, so I'm very interested in a framework like this.
I will say that I do really like the syntax of coffeescript as is though,
div className: 'container',
span className: 'foo'
CustomClass classname: 'bar'
It reminds me a lot of slim and reads nicely.Could you give me a quick example of calling a component with object literals instead of functions? I'm not understanding how that will play out in the final code.
Also, isn't it just adding React.createFactory, not replacing React.createClass?
It's not a huge deal, but I keep getting this sense that jsx is strongly tied to react and this reaffirms that they are going to keep it that way. I do trust the react team still, but it makes me weary of future releases.
I definitely feel this forced vibe around making everyone use jsx, but have yet to hear any compelling reasons why it's better.
I'm not saying ego is good, because it can take you down if not managed. But to say that there are no positives is a little bit extreme.
You could even see him hesitating and questioning his own statements in his head a few times.
Very glad to see others doing the same, I can't wait until online education mixed with mentorship proves to be a viable education option.
