You probably do, I thought I didn’t but if you just disable the warning about TPM 2.0 with a simple command it lets you install it just fine. Had no problems for years now.
It’s like you didn’t read the rest of my comment. However I can’t confirm. I wack that windows key on my keyboard and start typing all the time and can’t remember it ever opening the wrong thing.
Most useful apps refuse to run? I have an iPad Pro from 2016 and it runs everything I throw at it. Perhaps the air’s weaker hardware was always destined to struggle as time moves on. That being said I also have an iPad from 2011 which I can still use as a Spotify machine.
But true, they don’t have the flexibility of a laptop. They are however the longest lasting tablets I’m aware of.
Yeah I keep maintaining a specific app I built with gpt 5.1 codex max with that exact model because it continues to work for the requests I send it, and attempts with other models even 5.2 or 5.3 codex seemed to have odd results. If I were superstitious I would say it’s almost like the model that wrote the code likes to work on the code better. Perhaps there’s something about the structure it created though that it finds easier to understand…
I feel the average HN user though might be a bad representation of the general population. Personally I prefer the aesthetic of windows 11 over 7, it’s about the ONLY thing I prefer about windows 11, but windows 7 looks extremely dated to me now.
Yeah I’ve run into a few of these recently. I can’t work out if there’s just a few unhinged individuals on here or this is some kind of hyper-specific to HN trolling. Maybe a bit of both.
Accusing someone of a low effort dismissal and dismissing their comment as LLM written at the same time is quite the demonstration of both hypocrisy and instability.
Exactly. So much terrible usage is out there and no one is talking about it. It takes skill to use, and I bet accountants were way slower when they were learning how to use spreadsheets for the first time too.
Most people (and most businesses) aren’t making good quality code though. Most tools we use have horrible codebases. Therefore now the code can often be a similar quality to before, just done far faster.
I think it’s more likely that the same amount of work is getting done, just it’s far less taxing. And that averages are funny things, for developers it’s undeniably a huge boost, but for others it’s creating friction.
That’s a lot of words to say “if I don’t like something it’s objectively wrong” - also your wild rant went on so long and on so many tangents surely I’m not supposed to take you seriously.
