Thanks, that’s news to me! Does the APY fluctuate much? That is, is there a good chance they’ll drop it to 0 next month?

ivanvas··on Cloudflare Pages Functions beta feature will soon be GA
Hello Cloudflare Pages Users!

We’re excited to announce that the [Cloudflare Pages Functions](https://blog.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-pages-goes-full-stack...) beta feature will soon be generally available. This also means this feature will become a paid offering. If you participated in the beta, read on to see what this means for you.

In beta, [Pages Functions](https://developers.cloudflare.com/pages/platform/functions/) had a 100,000 requests/day limit. The *Pages Functions billing model introduced on November 15th* allows your traffic to scale without limitation.

How Pages Functions Billing Works Pages Functions billing will be merged with the existing Workers billing structure for Free, Paid, and Enterprise customers.

If you have a Workers Paid subscription:

- *Billing will automatically occur for all Functions usage after November 15th* –- no additional action required. - Pages Functions will share the same pool of quotas included in the subscription like requests and duration. - As an example, you will share the included 10 million Bundled requests between Workers and Pages Functions. - The pricing will continue to be the same as stated [here](https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/platform/pricing).

If you do not have a Workers Paid subscription (Workers Free)

- You will not be billed automatically but will be limited to the free 100,000 daily request limit - *You will share the same 100,000 free tier limit pool with your Pages Functions.* - For example, you could use 50,000 Functions requests and 50,000 Workers requests to use your full 100,000 daily request usage. - Today, we recommend that anyone currently using over (or near) 100,000 requests on Pages Functions, Workers or both combined should upgrade to Workers Paid. This information can be found in the Pages dashboard in the right hand corner.

Important notes:

- If we have raised your Functions limit during the beta period, this raised limit will no longer be in effect. The above sections explain how you will be billed or limited based on your Workers subscription status.

There seems to be an overlap with ksqlDB functionality. ksqlDB computation part is based on Kafka Streams. https://github.com/confluentinc/ksql

By no means an ad. Does this suppose to buoy the crypto pyramid, or what's the plan?
ivanvas··on Atlassian: We estimate the rebuilding effort to last for up to 2 more weeks
Looking at the company financials and timing, the wooden headquarters might have to wait.

I don't envy engineers there right now, some dpts. Stay strong, don't burn out!

ivanvas··on Atlassian products have been down for 4 days
Interesting. My knee-jerk reaction was "what a decadence". Then again, it might benefit somehow, just wondering how...

A quote from the project page: "This project is not just about being green, it’s a whole systems approach to design, construction and habitation. It will demonstrate that change is possible and has many advantages for the planet, our cities and business."

Sounds vague.

ivanvas··on The Case Against Serverless
It was ~4 years ago, so might have changed... The main problem I had with AWS LAMBDA is that it's impossible to remote debug. This made deploying a working component (fully tested in isolation) a pain. I had to play with IAM policies it needed, and without a way to connect and debug, it was a time-consuming "addPrintDebug-deploy-check" loop.
ivanvas··on U.S. $13.6B Aid package for Ukraine
For the scale comparison:

According to the central bank, Russia's total exports reached $489.8 billion in 2021. Of that, crude oil accounted for $110.2 billion, oil products for $68.7 billion, pipeline natural gas for $54.2 billion and liquefied natural gas $7.6 billion

Their comment is technically valid.

The timing of the block is bad though. It'd be great if they could comment on the timing.

Yes, the timing is very bad. It would be good to read Patreon's comments on this.

I just hope it's not a fear of Russian's hackers.

ivanvas··on Patreon suspends Come Back Alive page for Ukrainian army donations
> But Patreon told CNBC that using the site to support the purchase of military equipment was banned.

I didn't check the ToS. This might be true. However, in case they should've prohibited the creation of the campaign.

It's probably a mistake on Patreon's side, both in terms of business (if this goes viral) and communicating company values.

> If you see yourself supporting these anti-Democratic viewpoints, ask yourselves: "Are we the baddies?"

I think only in the domain of history the "baddies" term make sense. Until then (historical perspective and taking the survival bias into consideration), the majority is "just" that. Not to dismiss it, of course, being a basis of democracy.
