itwy··on Tell HN: ChatGPT cut off date now Jan 2022
And that random person doesn't have an online presence such as a LinkedIn profile, etc?
itwy··on I'm 17 and wrote this guide on how CPUs run programs
It's just someone impersonating a kid to get GitHub stars. I am baffled HackerNews bought it.
itwy··on Reddit’s database has two tables (2012)
How does this really work if a developer wants to pull most recent discussions posted in in X category, having most number of replies when I only have to tables?
itwy··on The Modos Paper Laptop
Do they have good support of the monitor needs repair? Any experience?
itwy··on Vercel raises $150M Series D
They gave CDN a new name to milk venture capitalists.
itwy··on Memory leaks are crippling my M1 MacBook Pro
I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3) and now on macOS Monterey everything just feels sluggish (especially the animations) and crashes sometimes.

It just feels the OS is designed for different, more recent hardware. I have been using Mac since 2010 and that wasn't the case in the past. I paid about $3,000 for this device. I am not happy and considering Linux/Windows.

itwy··on Apple Will Not Reinstate Epic’s Fortnite Developer Account
Exactly this. I bought iPad Pro to play Fortnite with my nephew, and in less than a month it was removed. Epic broke the agreement, fine remove them from the App Store, but there's no reason to not being able to install the game from an external source except for Apple's greed. I, for one, not going to purchase anything from Apple anymore. I spent over 20k on Apple devices in the last 8 years or so.
itwy··on Show HN: Weather API for non-commercial use
What is your tech stack?
itwy··on A stranger secretly lived in my home
That's hilarious. How did the rest of the conversation go?
itwy··on Show HN: Web browser to help programmers think clearly
It's not official (not listed on their website).
itwy··on Show HN: Web browser to help programmers think clearly
It doesn't.
itwy··on Show HN: Web browser to help programmers think clearly
No, it does not.
itwy··on Show HN: Web browser to help programmers think clearly
And I am saying Bitwarden is not tied to a web browser - it has a desktop client.
itwy··on Show HN: Web browser to help programmers think clearly
You should drop any software that prevents you from changing another unrelated software. In other words, move from LastPass to Bitwarden.
itwy··on What I'm Up to Now
I don't see it that way. He chose to be the brand.
itwy··on What I'm Up to Now
Fowler is the master of overcomplicating things.
itwy··on Debian 11
Nonsense. +95% of Python 2 knowledge is transferable to Python 3. Same for PHP 4 to PHP 8.
itwy··on The Framework Laptop is now shipping
How compatible is it with Linux? Was it tested with specific distros?
itwy··on There is no substitute for hard work
> Or I could train and train and get my 10 km jogging time down. Or I could get smart and get a bicycle.

What a nonsense statement.

itwy··on If you sell a house these days, the buyer might be a pension fund
Rent is not dropping. It is going up, rapidly.
itwy··on The anus is an evolutionary marvel
A CRM is surely less sophisticated than the marvellous, multifunctional sea cucumber anus. Could I possibly wake up one day with a custom one created and deployed to one of my servers, without my intervention?
itwy··on PlanetScale – Database for Developers
> The site is experiencing higher than normal traffic and we have temporarily halted database creation.

Ironic coming from the infinitely scalable database, isn't it?

itwy··on Half a million lines of Go
How many lines of Clojure would that be?
itwy··on Django 3.2
I've been using Django since 2010, I recently hit a roadblock with it that forced me to switch to Go for one of my projects. That's to say, it's not for everything. Especially may not be suitable for advanced SaaS services.
itwy··on Ask HN: How do solo devs get feedback on their code?
Your future self.
itwy··on Show HN: I wrote a book about Go
I love your writing style. Specially the way of not assuming previous knowledge.
itwy··on Google Analytics: Stop feeding the beast
Thank you for sharing this.
itwy··on Why Tech Moguls Are Obsessed with Building Utopian Cities
I like how both of you are right in a sense.
itwy··on Show HN: Sabre – The bullshit-free (c) programming language
The thing is, scope isolation takes 10x the time of hunting for rare and obvious bugs caused by global variable usage.
itwy··on Myopia treatment 'smart glasses' from Japan to be sold in Asia
I don't think it works like that.
