issung··on My long goodbye to Windows XP (2022)
I maintain that XP had the best UI of all Windows, but you (at least me) can't stick with it, I need the latest updates in order to use the latest software and get my work done.
issung··on Simple Sabotage Field Manual (1944)
This is TAME compared to some of the other things that have been declassified.
issung··on HackerFM – An AI Generated HN Podcast Using the New ChatGPT API
Takes everything I enjoy about HN away, bravo!
issung··on The 88x31 GIF Collection
Creator should consider combining those that are still or share the same number of frames into a single image, or atleast an image that combines ~100 so that its a single web request, then splice them using CSS.
issung··on Show HN: A color picker for named web colors
Each of these colours should just be a single "pixel" in the wheel, so how did you decide what shape/size to make each colour? Just arbitrarily?
issung··on Terminal.Gui: A Cross Platform Terminal UI Toolkit for .NET
How people get the mouse working in the terminal is one of those things I've always wondered how they do it, but never look into it because then the magic is gone. As a daily software engineer it's nice to have some things remain as magic
issung··on HHS purchases $290M worth of drugs for nuclear emergencies
What is "KI"?
issung··on 58 bytes of CSS to look great nearly everywhere
Had a very tiny error page I was making this morning with absolutely no CSS and remembered this from 2 days ago, dropped it in and it looks great! I just added font-family Trebuchet MS :)
issung··on Does Someone Know My Name?
You can remove the resolution from the end of the urls, though they should really provide links to that..
issung··on Someday aliens will land and all will be fine until we explain our calendar
This person hates it so much whenever there is a link to their content on this site, they go on huge massive rants about it with threads spamming as much as the OP, it's hilarious.
issung··on iPhones and action discoverability
The worst was when I had to Google how to delete a contact (I think it was the contacts list view, or something very similar), I have to swipe it to the side, then a big red delete button appears?? But dont swipe the wrong way because then it's something else?

It's probably different now, I ditched the Apple boat long ago.

issung··on Show HN: I may have created a new type of puzzle
This was a lot of fun! Please make more levels and post them here! My main complaint is the 2-way path on the left (Somebody at Bone/Somebody at Flower), I couldn't tell which restraint was for which direction, a simple arrow should fix this.
issung··on The spam on Twitter
I've started using it recently as a software/game dev and its just great place for people to easily and quickly share their content or progress, with lots of interesting things to learn about, I can imagine the same goes in other fields like artists, history buffs, etc.

Though some people are talented they can't help but bring politics into everything, and its just depressing to see the brainrot, I have to unfollow those people or block them sometimes if it's bad enough.

issung··on Google employees alarmed that the company suddenly expects them to do work
Kek this puts a smile on my face, all those smug rich kid interns that "work at google" and their whole day is just going to some meeting, doing 1 hour of shuffling tickets, then playing lacrosse and going to a drag show or some shit, with the final hours of the day spent editing the footage to go on TikTok.
issung··on Congress.gov API
I think now "OpenAPI" is the schema definition, swagger is the tool you actually use to display your OpenAPI specs in a nice interactive GUI.
issung··on Kiwi Farms has been removed from the Internet Archive
How many times have people been ridiculed to the point of suicide by their peers on Facebook, Twitter, etc? Should those sites be taken offline too?
issung··on Poll of Wikipedians concludes: Wikimedia fundraising emails are misleading
Guess I'll stop donating once a year then! Had about a 5 year streak, but seems to me like they are in a good position now. And I'm buying a house soon! Gotta cut down ;)
issung··on A 14kb page can load much faster than a 15kb page
What CSS does the author use to achieve that "sketchy" effect on the orange headings?
issung··on Shouting in the Datacenter (2008) [video]
This reminds me of an old favourite video, also in a Data Centre, also low-tier virality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeFtwtvy4Wc

Any other Data Centre classics I should watch?

issung··on I made a virtual bookshelf for book reviews
Love the 3d effect, is it pure CSS? Also once I click on a book I can't close the popup, have to refresh the page.
issung··on Rare and strange ICD-10 codes
https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/can-frogs-be-venomous.html

"There are currently only two species of frog known to be venomous: Bruno's casque-headed frog (Aparasphenodon brunoi) and Greening's frog (Corythomantis greeningi)."

issung··on Spotify to acquire Heardle
It should've been me...
