The side insisting not to take the pandemic at face value has no institutional power, in a sense no ego to lose. With no institutional power, they are always held to account.
The corporate media, pharmaceutical companies, almost all officials, social media companies, universities, police forces all insist people unquestioningly accept their viewpoint. Their "ego" is built on years of solidifying their position of authority. With all institutional power, they are not held to account. If they were to be held to account, their house of cards tumbles.
Using "experts" here IS an appeal to authority. Bias is at play here in a way that it is not in mathematical proofs. "Experts" is used here to provide cognitive ease to the reader, as a way of encouraging them not to examine deeper.
Long videos, but as you can see has been watched by many. Bit describing the "pipe burst" starts at 13:50 of the 2nd link. But there is so much more evidence here than just that once instance.

If you actually look at the evidence, you will realise it is not debunked. If youtube hasn't pulled the video, they go through the evidence in a hearing in front of the Georgia State Legislature.
Many of them originally doubt the evidence, believing it to be den=bunked as reported in the media. After seeing the evidence, they are appalled at the deceit of the election officials.
The power structures that be wish to ignore it, but like like Galileo being confident in his findings against a biased establishment Catholic Church, the truth will come out.
What makes it strange is sense of normalcy people (sorry, I mean racists) have about a sense of white / Islamic supremacy over Jews, that makes them think it's ok to say things like 'we will wipe every Jew off the face of the planet' etc.
Government should not be in the business of religious marriage, LGBT or otherwise.
Leave religious marriage to religious tribes, however they wish to define a religious marriage.
Similarly, Government marriages / civil partnerships / unions whatever should not be interfered with by religious groups.
I used to be a fundamentalist atheist / progressive, as you appear to be.
I then realised I was turning in to the control freak that I used to despise the religious Right for being in the 2000s.
This primary reason is to maintain property prices.
Boris is Establishment, but went against the Establishment's beliefs by backing Brexit. I'd also argue that Cameron was more Establishment than Boris.
Just going on personal experience I feel like 'chavs' had social confidence around the early Blair, and tended to be dismissed late Blair/Brown. By the time Cameron was in office I fell like there was an idea that Eton, private school, investment banking, Mayfair = good, or at least this was stronger under Cameron than Blair. It's all flipped now.
I studied Physics 2011-2014
I feel like in the last 5 years or so it has turned to posh is "uncool".
In the US, I feel like they had something similar. Obama was elected in 2008, but some people did have concerns of electing someone unestablished. To assuage these concerns, Obama promoted and kept safe the interests the elite at the time. Not detracting Obama here - that's the position he was in back in 2008 when some would have considered electing a black man to the Office as unthinkable.
I also found that students disproportionately cam from families who themselves had studied at Oxbridge.
"The relationship with those families having a lot of money was not something I particularly noticed."
When I was there, I noticed students disproportionately came from wealthy families, wealth in the millions rather than billions terms.
Then came the push in the 80s to 00s to get more working class kids into higher education, so they could have the same opportunities as upper class folk, thinking education leads to wealth. Instead we've just ended up with a bunch of working class kids graduating to become baristas.
Education doesn't lead to real wealth. University educated higher professionals still go back to their middle class home to open a carton of orange juice.
Having started a business recently, I've realised how much I didn't need anything I learned at uni to do this.
