At my office, we use Slack and Teams, but honestly no one actually checks a digital status before they walk over to your desk.
I keep a QR code on my desk with a note that says "What I’m up to." Anyone can scan it to see if I’m in a deep-focus session or free to chat. I can update it from anywhere just by sending a quick email to a custom address. (There is a 'Download QR Code' icon on the page to make this easy).
I’ve also started putting the link in my email auto-replies. Standard OOO messages are usually static and boring, but this makes them a bit more dynamic/useful.
You can use it for all sorts of things, like notice boards etc. You can create up to 2 pages per email address.
I’m curious to know if you find this useful or how you’d use a simple status page like this. Thanks!
I've been using it for a few days now and it seems to work ok. A bit slow but currently it all runs on a single server.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Edit: Forgot to mention, in case it's not clear - leave the input blank or use * for all updates (max 500 shown).
I've developed an open-source inference server called Inferenceable with the aim of providing developers with a straightforward solution that can be installed without fussing over dependencies.
Inferenceable, built in Node.js, simplifies the process of building and running complex libraries like llama.cpp, making it accessible to developers of all levels.
It's also pluggable and can be used with your custom strategies.
There are 3 main functions - General text based inference - Image inference - Generate text embeddings
Inferenceable also includes a simple UI which can be customised or deployed as is, pluggable authentication, CSP and rate limiter.
I'm working on adding more authentication strategies, including social logins, and creating additional examples.
Thanks for checking it out, and happy coding!
Did you try to speak with someone incharge of your role / projects. If the people are good, and if they need you, they will listen.
If not, whats the point anyways.
I wanted to run a social experiment to see if something like this can work. I am calling it 1MB (One Million Bytes), mint to earn project.
Idea is simple, you mint a byte (NFT) at a specific location on a 1000x1000 grid. Some of you might remember projects like million dollar homepage.
Fantom is a proof of stake chain so minting cost is just few cents $.
These byte NFTs are standard ERC-721 tokens so you can always trade and speculate. However, this projects is a little different..
90% of the NFT cost collected by the smart contract is given back to few thousand randomly selected holders.
Also, each NFT act as an on chain memo. You can set your memo on chain which will live forever (can be edited by the token owner).
There is no central team, no control, everything is pre programmed in the solidity smart contract.
Byte name and color is selected by the smart contract from a set, byte shape is generated randomly at the time of minting.
Also, different blockchains work differently.
Destroying the environment is not really a valid point.
Let people be excited about things.
You can also use rarity flag 'r' or 'u' to give some traits much less of a chance to appear.
Simply name your image files accordingly, drag entire folder(s), define how many NFTs you wanna generate, size etc and it will do that for you in browser. It's in browser / offline so your images are not uploaded anywhere. You can also disconnected with the network if you are concerned...
The only thing I track are page views to see if the tool is at all useful.
This tool also create a ERC721 (OpenSea specific) metadata template if you wanna create your own smart contract and host metadata... but if you are creating small set of images its best to lazy mint on markets like OpenSea.
Hope it's useful to someone, somewhere out there.
P.S. I also create my own collection, its not for sale yet but if you are interested its here https://unwonted.io/art
If someone is aware and choose something, it's absolutely fine. The problem is the hidden agendas in all shapes and forms.
Didn't know about 'Tverskyan study', thanks for referring
The site I created is to help people find good names which I come up with using the tools I have built over time.
Site has 2 sections; home page lists the hand picked domains which are still available at the time of posting (updated every 24 hours, I have long list waiting) and a premium page where I will be selling my own domains at a fixed price to fund other projects.
Hope it's useful.
Just wanted to share the release of version 2 (+Events & +Public notifications) of IPster.
Website is still basic so don't beat me on that. Once there is some clarity, landing page will get better. See this for a quick overview: https://ipster.io/cheat-sheet/
Outside of HN, I got a lot of feedback, many different ideas and opinions, one common theme I picked up was that contextual conversation and the ability to converse privately on a given topic was well received. Heard that one person wanting to use IPster to organise 'Reiki' sessions ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Given the kind of usage; I have implemented 'Events'. Events are notification with an attached timestamp. Recipients of such notification can mark them as 'attending' which sets an alarm (a push notification for iOS and Android) to be sent 30min before the start time.
No matter what type of notification, a job, a question or event, you have the ability to discuss with context.
Think of a simple event like dev meetup, where you can let people know and discuss before, during and after the event.
The second addition is 'Public' notifications. In addition to 'All my followers' and 'Selected followers' you can now create notifications which are public. Public notifications are visible on your profile page and help users see what you are sharing before they decide to follow you. In future these can be used for better user discovery and ipster.io feeds. Use public notifications to gain more following if you like. There are some related features coming in future releases, I will share the roadmap in next few days on the site.
Regarding the slogan or phrase; it's a start, I am getting a lot of feedback here and on other channels. Will come up with something better to get the message across. Also, the landing page will be redesigned to help understand the product better.
The initial idea was to help short term contractors and friends/colleagues helping each other.
But I believe IPster should evolve in to something what people want it to be. It just have to be useful.
