They can. Patreon is about to be hit really hard for playing thought policeman.
This is the new CLI i want most
I'm not sure why you mention this as a contrast. Macro evolution also does not follow the scientific method as there is no repeatable experiment you can design to falsify the hypothesis. This is well-known among evolutionary biologists.
In a conversation I had with someone who knew the business, the new language subtitles don't line up with the new language audio because the new language subtitles are translated from the original language subtitles, not the new language audio.
Why? This saves a step from someone having to rewatch the final new language dialogue and transcribe the new language as it is exactly spoken. That step can be skipped and the new language subtitles can still be translated from the original language subtitles, although they will be quite off much of the time.
Take this famous opener in the KJV bible for example:
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
Well just what does it mean by Word? Turns out this is Koine Greek λόγος, logos.
Logos not only means word, but it importantly also means reasoning, order, and logic. Logos has multiple senses that don't translate well into a single, word. This was a big revelation for me.
just a nitpick but land ownership-based industries, in which you get a license from the government to own and lease out monopolies on land, are inherently far from free markets. ive always wondered if land ownership could be made to be more free market-like.
I would like to add separately however for people unfamiliar with sci-hub, I am unaware of any copyright infringement issues of linking to or downloading from sci-hub. Sharing or downloading links has never been copyright infringement. Distribution is, which is why sci-hub is based in a separate jurisdiction (Russia I believe) that does not recognize US copyright claims.
For 10k concurrent stream receivers in the US and Europe, what would you be looking at to get the stream under 30 seconds lag time?
I realize this is a hard problem but would like to explore it.
All of them?
Want another challenge? Try one with the azimuthal equidistant projection. Would be quite interesting to watch the comparison.
Thanks for the link. If thats the commonly used translation there, then that makes much more sense, and I see why they went with it. Learned something new today.
If the physician you were at felt unable to make the right call, he could have referred you to or consulted with someone who could. An 'irritated look' might instead be a flurry of such treatment paths going through their mind.
'Can I figure this out on my own? Should I consult? Should I refer out? Should I just check UpToDate? What does the latest literature I read say to do? What was done for the last patient who had this? Has the literature changed since then? What is the hospital policy on this (if any?)? What did my microbiology class say to do for this? What do the boards think is right to do in this instance?'
>puppy husk
This was mentioned at least twice as something the example snake bite recipient used to use. I'm pretty sure they meant 'poppy husk', unless puppy husk is another novel analgesic. This puts the quality of the journal's peer review in doubt.
Is this a euphemism for 'stuffing the ballot box with nonprofits your wife and friends and are on'?
It was stated that the only thing she inspired me to do was slow down my expression of reading speed. Reading faster than my peers and entertaining them is not something people get embarrassed about.
Her telling me to slow down was not a magical way to get me to add inflection out of the void. Being scolded for deviating from normal speed only reinforced the standard school mentality that any deviation = bad. It would have only discouraged me from adding inflections without first being instructed to do so.
>(other classmates) weren't ready to add inflection.
I don't recall my classmates even adding inflection by high school or beyond, let alone by the end of the trimester. At least where I'm from, elementary teachers do not try to add inflection in their students. I'd imagine being able to read itself is more than sufficient to send them on to the next class.
Teachers focusing attention on illiterate students probably took precedence over tinkering with subjective inflections in kids who were not only going to pass their K-5 standardized tests but were already reading at a high school level.
So I switched the extra processing power to making context-appropriate inflections, dramatizations, and intonations instead of the monotone my classmates were doing, which the teachers seemed to tolerate.
now i too am unsure what the advantage is.
