Yeah that's the American spirit right there
Regardless, the point is we aren't "fighting for peace and freedom," we're just murdering a bunch of people in a different country over something we have nothing to do with
This isn't our business and we shouldn't be involved
Thinking that we, as Australians, need to get involved looks to me like "aw these poor little brown people don't know what they're doing they need a big strong white man to sort it out!"
Picking a side here isn't advocating for peace it's posturing
You know, the thing that actually makes a country/society
Putting the needs of business over the needs of the people those businesses are actually supposed to serve is how you end up with America
People sleeping in every car park at parks and beaches etc
I'm a night person with bad insomnia so I often go for drives or walks at night and a lot of my favourite places to go are now heavily populated by people sleeping in their cars
As a chef of close to a decade I will tell you right now:
If people in the restaurant aren't getting small details right...
They DEFINITELY aren't getting the rest right either
Someone who isn't paying attention to the food they're serving and the conditions they're serving it in just doesn't care and isn't paying attention to how they wash their hands or that piece of meat they dropped behind the fridge a few days ago that's bringing in roaches and rodents or the sour smell coming from the bag they just opened or the open wound that just dripped blood into your sauce
Most likely, they probably don't even know what allergens are present in their menu, posing a genuine risk to people
I promise you
Who are you people sticking up for?
I don't understand the "I mean they clearly didn't put any effort in here, but I believe 100% that they're doing their absolute best everywhere else!" sentiment
It's great to be optimistic about life and people in general but that's entirely unreasonable and you're only gonna be let down (or in the case of a restaurant probably get sick)
Would you trust a pilot that advertises his services with some half assed ai generated ad with spelling mistakes?
I know I wouldn't
It'd be along the same lines as saying "I was drunk driving 75km/hr over the limit down a busy suburban road during the middle of the day and 5 people died because of it so we CAN NOT TRUST CARS"
And everyone stands up and claps
I think infantilisation is a huge part of the reason we're where we are today - kids 100 years ago were working harder jobs than most adults today (not implying child slave labour is a good thing, just making a point)
Kids today, though, are given exactly 0 responsibility and treated like babies the whole way through their prime learning years
I feel so sorry for the next generation
During the process of optimising and understanding the programmer might learn something new or have some kind of "aha" moment of insight that might lead them down a new path of study where fantastic new technologies and capabilities can be realised
Fast forward to 2026
Most web pages take several seconds to load
Applications crash often for no apparent reason
A vast majority of programmers have no idea what their applications are actually really even doing anymore, so they stack bloat on top of bloat and if something breaks, well I guess that's someone elses problem cos I have no idea what's going on anymore
There's something to be said about levels of abstraction being useful, but abstracting away understanding of the task itself is not the path to generating useful knowledge or applications for humanity
We might be gaining the "what" but we are losing the "why" and the "how" and these are generally fundamentally more important
The answer is 42 but what is the question?
Are you just concerned about the administration side of things?
I think the GP here has a pretty reasonable outlook here
"Some people can't do some things the same way as others and that's ok, people are different"
Is the vibe I got from that post
Qed
It actually tends towards 1 no matter how small the divisor
It doesn't always go to 0, hence why it is undefined
I've spent a few more minutes than I should have trying to work this out. The only way I can figure this is it's related to the head movement? Still not sure. I sure do have very little love for this generation though
Just want to hopefully make you feel warm inside knowing you've made a really big difference to people's lives
Thanks for being you
