I know people have called them out for being elitist, but they have always been very responsive to their community about posting things people make when you reach out to them.
Yes it requires a little bit of work (and a good product), but it's not really hard if you want to take advantage of what PH offers.
[Disclaimer: I'm a big fan, and very active user of PH for a few years now]
After my interview, circumstances changed and I needed to leave NYC, I told the company and they decided it would be ok for me to work remotely from Boston. Haven't looked back since, love being remote.
Based on a report published in 2013, find out how susceptible over 700 jobs are to automation.
The reason that there would be no garbage truck software is that most developers don't know or want to the understand the garbage business.
While it's important to pick an idea where their is money, it's equally important that you pick an idea where you have a clue of what to build, or have access to people that you can talk too about what they need, and can sign as customers.
A large number of software projects start as consulting projects, where someone sees a way to turn the project into something that might be wanted by more than just the initial client. If you don't have any consulting like this, you can always try browsing the job boards and see what people are hiring people to build, and see if those idea's might be something you can turn into a product.
Search for bots across all platforms, not just Messenger, to find the best bot for your needs, with the connivence of searching in a Bot :)
We hope to release additional bots for other platforms in the near future.
My favorite commute was when I lived in SF and worked about a mile from the office. I used to ride my bike everyday, some how it felt like a downhill ride each way.
Was a great way to get ready for the work day in the morning, and clear my mind on the way home.
The first tune I built something it wasn't with a big vision to be the next Facebook (Facebook didn't exist then actually :)) but it was something I needed, and I figured I'd just see if other people needed it too.
Other times, I've built things purely as a learning exercise, so you can't fail if you launch, you've actually succeeded just because you launch, what comes later doesn't matter.
Once I'd launched a couple of times, the fear factor didn't really come into mind anymore.
Inspired by the best of nine sites for Intagram, we thought it was be interesting to see what was popular in the design community with a tool like this.
Just passed over 300 Publications. The list is ordered by the number of followers, and I'm working on adding additional sorting/filtering options.
Still looking for more publications to add to the list, if you have any suggestions please add a comment.
Great feedback, and thanks for understanding about the timeouts, always fun times being on HN and PH at the same time !
We focused on making it easy to build the initial list and share it with friends, but for die hard music fans we know you'll want a lot more features that we have on a roadmap.
Oh and I've featured your show list :)
Temporary fixes until we can make something better for the long term.
As Jonny mentioned this is very much an MVP which we just finished yesterday. We do have plans to allow you manually add event details if we don't have them in the database.
Sorting of the show list is also something we have on the roadmap.
Sorry about the errors, yeah we're hitting the API limits pretty hard.
Building up the database now and with the help of others, we'll get all the reviews in there, and easy to find.
Surely if the cartoonist submitted it to the editor of the paper before it was published, shouldn't the editor be the one getting fired?
Thanks!
We hope someday it will become a fully fledged store, but for now we're working towards building a complete directory of bots available on every platform.
If the websites get enough traffic, will expand the offering :)
So I built Remote Duck, now you can rubber duck debug with people 24/7. They won't talk back, but boy are they good listeners!
Still looking for more volunteers, if you'd like to help a developer debug their code just submit (http://remoteduck.com/submit) your video.
