Been enjoying using Omarchy and this is my way of keeping tabs on what's going on.
We figured we could access census data for the states/counties and see how the population has shifted, between elections.
Definitely doable, would just need some time to collect the data.
Red/Blue is an indication who won that state in 2016.
The shading (light -> dark) was mean't be an indicator of how much participation in the current election.
The lighter the color, the closer to 100% of the 2016 voting numbers has already been achieved.
Will add some sorting options!
I was thinking about the number of people that actually vote, and with more states allowing early voting, I wondered how it would affect participation in the election (given the current pandemic).
I was able to find the raw data on http://www.electproject.org/ but wasn't happy with how it was being displayed, so I created my own visualization.
When I started working on newCo I was working on it my spare time. I decided it would best for newCo if Ben was able to focus on it fulltime, instead of splitting the revenue with me, then having to supplement his income with other work.
To be clear Ben was willing to share the revenue with me at the time. I was in a place where that wasn't necessary and I thought it would best if it went to Ben until we hit certain milestones which we never did.
MakerPad was something totally new that Ben started after we decided to fold newCo, he did 100% of the work for many years, and deserves all the success it has brought.
Ben is a friend, and I'm happy I was a part of his "startup" journey. I'd be more than happy to work with him on projects in the future.
I go into all my projects with a clear mind, knowing what I'm risking (usually only my time).
Having your logo on a virtual background is a great way to keep your brand front and center during business calls.
Would love to know know what you think!
Either -) More personalization so you can focus in on the topics that really interest you.
or -) Providing more information on the podcast (hosts and episode specific information) so listeners can better judge if they will enjoy a podcast.
Will probably do both eventually, but with limited time trying to decide which is more important and to tackle first.
But seriously wanted a quick clean experience and keep the focus on the podcasts.
Rather than discovering podcasts, Pod Hunt makes episodes the focal point of discovery. You won't find a the same tired list of top podcasts you see everywhere else.
Instead a daily updated list of new episodes is submitted and voted on by the Pod Hunt community members.
Would love to know what you all think...
I wanted to make it easier to see who makers had worked with and hopefully make it easier to find people to work with on future projects thru their existing networks.
I've continued to grow the site as the MCU continued to grow in popularity.
I couldn't find an easy way to track the remaining fixtures for Liverpool and Manchester City (and also at the time Spurs) so I decided to build a website to make it super easy.

As a big fan of Twitter I’m always looking out for great people to follow. When I come across a new product or startup I often think it would be great to follow the team behind it. Unfortunately this is harder todo than it should be.
For a simple CRUD app the stack is irrelevant. You'll want to get to market as quickly as you can and that will be with the stuff you already know.
If they really wanted to solve the problem all it takes it consuming their own firehose API and writing back to delete flagged content.
You really don't need to insert the moderation into the "backend", you just have to want to solve the problem, instead of accepting the problem because it fuels your growth.
Update: Done :)
I wrote about the idea, process, tech: https://medium.com/makesideproject/how-much-is-a-bitcoin-wor...
We did some thinking on it, but didn't start designing or development until the start of Hackathon, which was yesterday.
You can checkout the Twitch stream where Seth worked on the design here: https://go.twitch.tv/videos/186775869
Although we've only been live a few hours, we've already had a ton of great feedback.
That really helps me get to the finish line, because I'm not thinking I'm going to launch the app in this state. I'm just trying to get it to the next checkpoint. Either I fix the UI/UX or get other involved who can.
Alternatively, UI kits are really cheap (some are free), on sites like ThemeForest, just pick one of those and run with as best you can. There will be rough edges, but for the most part the app will look good enough.
