Can anyone shed light on which specific "finance software" of Oracle is being migrated off from here?

This. As a programmer, I've never been able to successfully explain to my managers about this. It always ends up being a blame on me instead for "not properly assessing and estimating the effort".

i5h4non Ask HN: What useful internal tools or libraries have you built in your company?

In my previous organization, we dealt with a legacy enterprise software product which had accumulated a massive bug history over multiple years and sub-products. All being tracked by an in-house bug tracking product.

Lots of issues we used to see being reported were either already fixed or had been config issues. In order to (somewhat) quickly find existing fixes/comments for issues that we get reported, I built a search tool (webapp) which scraped the bugs and comments in those bugs in order to find any relevant information around your query and listed them in order of matching probability.

Was a pretty cool learning experience to build that out. I had deployed it on a personal remote VM that devs were granted, have no idea if people are still using it.

I wanted to get myself the next Pixel, after a couple of really good years with my faithful OnePlus 3 - only to be annoyed that the Pixel 3 didn't have the headphone jack either. Thats after they made all those ads about the iPhone not having it.

Would want to try my hand at cooking, although not really sure if I would enjoy high-pressure restaurant cooking as much as I do for myself & my family.

I just tried it for an hour or so and it does seem great. Bummed on the lack of an Android app though... would've helped me immediately.

Anyway, I read your comments that it is nearly 80% done so I'll give it a shot and signup. The mobile version on Chrome browser works decently well so I think I'll manage with that till then.
