Very satisfying and feels like you're doing something actually useful. Also nudges you to visit parts of your neighborhood you might never have been to before.
The difference here, as you point out, is that Bobby already had a lifetime of listening to music and appreciating other singers.
I literally cannot imagine being a musician who doesn't listen to music.

In your native tongue you take these for granted, but in a second language you have to learn that the sum is more (or different) than the parts.
I haven't turned it into a hobby, it's just a tool that solves a problem.

Polarity has never stopped making Bitwig content and I've learned an absolute ton of stuff from him.
You lose some idiomatic guitar vocabulary, but if you don't care about that you gain the ability to construct your own chord voicings much more easily, and only need to remember one fingering for each chord instead of three.
Anecdata: the bass in low bitrate online drum and bass radio in the 2000s always came through cleaner than the mids and treble.
