hippari2··on AI is ushering in a “tiny team” era
Yeah but that's not tech, the positive are just result from legal loop holes. I would say though that Taxi companies now have proper app because Uber forces them to catch up with the tech. Calling taxi in the pre-Uber era was literally hell.
hippari2··on Tell HN: Beware confidentiality agreements that act as lifetime non competes

hippari2··on Framework Laptop 12 review
Not sure how your family is using it. But I find that a laptop using as a desktop has a much longer lifespan than a laptop using as intended ( a traveling work station ). Things like moisture, accidental drops, keyboard issue is much more common.

I find that with enough wrong answers it feels like you are fighting alone again haha.
hippari2··on Now might be the best time to learn software development
I find it exhausting in a yes-man kind of way where it does whatever you told but just somehow wrong. I think your human case is the reverse.
hippari2··on Terpstra Keyboard
Piano layout is suprisingly robust, just use a bigger size key like organists do.

This is one of the thing that smart watches should be doing, or even better, something like https://blog.singleton.io/posts/2022-10-17-otp-on-wrist/.

hippari2··on Can I stop drone delivery companies flying over my property?
I wonder what's stopping them from erecting random wire mesh that will damage drone flying through them.
hippari2··on My AI skeptic friends are all nuts
Well this is actually happening in Japanese Animation and the result is that no young talents are getting trained in the workforce. [1]

But unlike animation, where the demand for the art can just disappear. I don't think the demand for software engineer will disappear. Same thing with musician. Young engineers might just be jobless or on training mode for much longer period of time before they can make actual living money.

Good thing is, as far as I know, Kyoto Animation managed to avoid this issue by having in-house training, growing their own talent pools.

hippari2··on Military grade sonic weapon is used against protesters in Serbia
I think it's pretty much a useless protest if everyone leaves the moment it become "a bit rowdy". Not to mention that if you meditate for long enough of time ( which is like the most peaceful kind of protest ) the Police will Spray / LDAR you anyway.

Agree, and I often derange the conversation to cut their story shot lol ( sorry ). Unless they're really determined to continue.

hippari2··on Task-Switching Experiment (2015)
This is fun but I supposed you should not take this test more than a few times. After a while I notice that I read the whole ( shape, filling, position) as an input and it's quite a bit faster than initial timing.
