highcountess··on How much do I need to change my face to avoid facial recognition?
I’m thinking it will only be a matter of time before (if it’s not already the case) that things like self-checkout systems that do HQ faces level video for facial recognition and identification, akin to any number of dystopian novels/movies where some protagonist cannot move around without face covering because there are scanners, or even something like Idiocracy where the public is so conditioned that they immediately report someone who does not obey the government regime’s requirement to have some barcode.

highcountess··on Notre Dame Cathedral reopens
That is not really applicable here. The cathedral itself was never really destroyed even though the Christian rejectors’ mob ransacked it in the “French” Revolution and the latest fire also did not really cause structural damage.

It is also still a functioning Christian church with services.

highcountess··on Beekeepers halt honey awards over fraud in global supply chain
Are you sure what you believe is unadulterated honey because you are familiar with the taste, is not just adulterated and you are just so accustomed to fake honey that you confuse the two?

I say that because basically all the honey I’ve ever bought in a store has always tasted flat and lacked flavor depth that has long made me wonder about its authority compared to known hive honey.

highcountess··on McKinsey unit will pay $123M to settle claims it bribed South African officials
I knew I should specify sub-Saharan Africa, because there’s always that Reddit tier knowing and willful idiot contrarian that just can’t help themselves from just being opposite for sake of being opposite, due to a severe mental derangement that compels them to be that way.

We are not talking about North Africa here, we are talking about South Africa and South Africa like places, which would mean sub-Saharan Africa, not Egypt or Algeria or Tunisia. You lack refinement and do not contribute anything useful, and may want to reflect on why you have that contrarian compulsion. No one is talking about North Africa. All the intelligent people here know we are talking about Africa in the context of South Africa. You clearly lack fundamental skills to distinguish such things.

highcountess··on TikTok divestment law upheld by federal appeals court
It’s because this TikTok matter is not at all about Chinese ownership, which is really rather irrelevant since it is technically an American company based in CA and abides by American laws.

The China China China histrionics is disingenuous and dishonesty by dishonest and fraudulent people who are concerned with the loss of control of censorship and thought policing. They want total control over thoughts and speech in America and TikTok is a major problem for them, a red-pill so to say, and they want everyone taking that blue pill because their whole tyrannical and fraudulent power structure relies on regularly taking the regime’s blue pills.

It’s why there is so much frantic flailing about this issue and the same people who not only never cared about “protecting the children” from violence, gore, and sexuality including explicit pornography, are all the sudden so concerned with children once they may learn something about the world that makes them realize the dishonest, lying, narcissistic, histrionic, psychopathic dirt bags that control all of the west; have been telling them lies and abusing them and plundering their future for their own kind.

highcountess··on McKinsey unit will pay $123M to settle claims it bribed South African officials
Because there is no mechanism in basically all of Africa that would put some kind of limit on it. No strong governmental institutions, no moral framework, no religious framework. And to the contrary, the African continent is largely antithetical to western/European moral, ethical, and philosophical limitations.

People just assume Africans are the same as Europeans and Asians, etc. because they’ve had it hammered into their minds all their lives, but reality is that we are all quite different and that’s good in some ways and bad in others, but it’s different.

highcountess··on McKinsey unit will pay $123M to settle claims it bribed South African officials
They’re also an organization in which sexual predation is normal.
highcountess··on US airlines transported passengers over two light-years since the last crash
They’re really quite clearly incomparable things. For example, over a two hour drive yesterday, I saw three vehicles with blown out tires and two vehicles stopped on the shoulder and witnessed a nearly serious rear-end accident that was only barely evaded by swerving onto the shoulder, not even to mention the hazardous driving while swerving in and out of lanes, tailgating and close passing, etc.

The point is that it’s simply not comparable because the consequences of air travel are far more significant, not to mention that there are dozens of people doing constant QA and maintenance on regular schedules that do all they can to prevent those major risks from manifesting themselves.

For context; ~42,500 die in vehicle accidents every year in the US. ~380 die in all aviation accidents, which also is largely private planes, which basically combines the worst of both. Miles traveled are utterly irrelevant in this regard, when around almost 3 people die every single day in every CONUS state.

highcountess··on Americans see their savings vanish in Synapse fintech crisis
You clearly do not know a single real thing about America. America itself is a con job from to back, to to bottom, left to right. Between the reserve currency global fraud, the inflation money printing, the scam startups, the deficit spending and national debt fraud, the various banking and financial frauds, even our children are raised with fraudulent schemes with things like the “fundraising” through selling Girl Scout cookies and circulate bars. All the scamming online, in our professional lives, personal lives, or fake religious groups and political entities, is all just snake oil heritage and the rich plundering the country through a fraud based economy.

It’s something that most Europeans that come to America either are shocked by or fall prey to, because not only are laws tighter in Europe regarding fraudulent activities, but in many places of Western Europe, society is still relatively high trust and of good morals and ethics with little of the overt and blatant open scamming and lies you see in America on a daily basis to such a degree that most Americans cannot even see it.

A more apparent example of that is our stores in America that are always having a BIG BIG SALE of up to 80% OFF. When it’s just the same market prices claiming to be 80% discounted from some made up price.

highcountess··on TinyTroupe, a new LLM-powered multiagent persona simulation Python library
I am glad I was not the only one that was taken aback a bit by that. I am not one to be too critical about loose ends or roughness in things that are provided for free and my ability to contribute a change, but it is a bit surprising that Microsoft would now have QA on this considering it ties into the current image they are trying to build.
highcountess··on EU opens antitrust investigation into anticompetitive practices by Corning
I get the sentiment, but there really has to be a better way than letting some mod overlords determine what I may be allowed to see, even going to far as to not just taking my autonomy to choose, but to even hide the existence of the choice.

I am sure you see my point.

highcountess··on EU opens antitrust investigation into anticompetitive practices by Corning
Do you remember what was said? The censorious overlords deny us the human right of autonomy to see things and make choices about things like seeing what was written.
highcountess··on U.S. chip revival plan chooses sites
It really bugs the hell out of me that we are constantly forced against our will to fund these companies for basically nothing. It’s an utterly insane model. Sure, we get to then give them yet more money to use those critical chips after the same people squandered the time and gutted the American economy and shipped it all overseas for decades prior; but can’t there be a rate of return and not just give, essentially executives huge bonuses forever?

There should be no such thing as free grants, if anything they should be ownership stakes by the U.S. people by way of the government if, e.g., we are handing them 700 Million dollars and then basically deferring on 1 Billion dollars which also has an additional opportunity cost and a cost of the money, i.e., inflation and interest.

I can’t tell you how many people have become extremely wealthy from nothing by getting government grants and contracts that built and funded their companies, paid for by you, with your tax money and inflation you pay at the grocery store.

highcountess··on A new dental scam is to pull healthy teeth to sell you expensive fake ones
This is why the consequences of dishonesty in such asymmetric dynamics need to be not just major, but stunningly, shockingly severe; e.g., seizure of all assets, including homes and anything that would otherwise be protected to totally impoverish them and bar them from any professional position for life. These types of relationships are the bullseye for deterrence through sever punishment; they are deliberative offenses against society, they has severe and compounding impacts, and they are a severe abuse of trust and asymmetric information.

That should also be backed up by a bounty program that allows whistleblowers to get some significant portion of the seized assets.

highcountess··on ChatGPT Search
The whole basis for information and data is totally corrupted and we are not even allowed i.e., enabled to talk about that, let alone the corrupted nature of the information and data, largely because entrenched tyrannical people and their mindsets are in total control of the mainstream and have even made significant headway in shattering the dissident opposition. The consumption side incentives are effectively irrelevant when what is consumed is basically worthless. What’s the value of lies?
highcountess··on Could you pass this 8th grade test from 1912?
It’s a bit on the nose and does not address the causes of the lampooned state of affairs, but what makes that video even more terrifying is that it was made 8 years ago, not today.

highcountess··on EU: Definition of "potential terrorists" opens door to broad information-sharing
Yes. The tyrannical clan of the ruling class knows this method very well and uses it to great effect repeatedly and with apparently little to no reaction or pushback. It is not the only method or even class of manipulative and abusive methods. It is basically just a bait and switch at its core.

A famous example many here will likely still be able to associate with is “The Patriot act”, which should have really been called “The Hunt Patriots act”; in reality a kind of mop-up operation after the USA has already long ago been functionally and psychologically conquered without the people even realizing it, kind of like how people can one day find themselves wondering how they slid into a very abusive relationship little by little without realizing it or being able to take action to prevent it. The only difference being that many, definitely not most people haven’t even started asking themselves whether they are in an abusive relationship, let alone how they got there.

People still haven’t even realized that the whole premise of the EU is a tyrannical and hostile illegitimate imitation government. It has no legitimacy under its own claimed democratic principles, it’s the timeshare fraud of governance; sell a fantasy and good presentation, while reality is a fraudulent and destructive nightmare.

highcountess··on EU: Definition of "potential terrorists" opens door to broad information-sharing
Pretty sure Jesus set that standard many centuries before Gandhi. If anything Gandhi was just taking inspiration from Jesus.
highcountess··on Legalizing sports gambling was a mistake
I know many in those era are even aggressively opposed to the Bible, but I have long seen it as a kind of change log, commit notes, code notes, etc. …

“hi, ancient people here. We learned this lesson hard over many iterations that gambling is bad, we are making a rule that you, future reader shouldn’t gamble or it will also result in your societal debt and likely contribute to your destruction too if you take on too many of the things we learned over millennia and many different civilizations and societies collapsing; and we wrapped it in nice allegories for so it appeals to your innate human proclivity to dream, imagine, and tell stories. Don’t say we didn’t want you!”

Unfortunately it seems our Digital Age civilization is hell bent on emulating its Bronze Age and Tower of Babel compatriots the way we are going.

highcountess··on Why We're Having to End Our Direct Peering Relationship with Deutsche Telekom
This whole release reads like manipulative propaganda. All the emotive language, front loading/priming with a widely accepted idea among the consumer of the information, framing the title in victimization terms, “Takeaway” in a Propaganda Relations release, meaning “here is what we hope you will believe unflinchingly”, etc. It’s all there.
highcountess··on Why Most Published Research Findings Are False (2005)
I’ve been in a meeting with government research officials where a director of the primary global institution in that field described how when she writes or does research and writes papers she draws a graph she needs to support her research or a point she is trying to make and then goes to look for the data to create that graph.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I do not believe that is the way it is stopped to go. Btw, she has a PhD and failed up into a global scale.

I’ve been meaning to find out if there are any open tools to evaluate someone’s dissertation.

It was equal part stunning and seemingly a bit traumatizing to me considering I still remember it as if it had happened earlier today. I think what surprised me too was her open admission of it, even with external parties present.

highcountess··on YouTube Premium is getting a big price hike internationally
I am not sure what would make someone expect something like "loyalty" from a corporation. They will lie to you just like any other exploitative narcissistic psychopathic cluster of people, until the second they don't need or want you anymore.

Corporations basically a manifestation of what people all across the globe and all throughout time have all identified as various forms of malevolent entities; effectively endless bounds to do harm and effectively zero accountability or consequences. Corporations are essentially parasites on humanity at every single level, from what is kind of like parasocial relationship by proxy that people have largely dependent on or from their connection to the corporation, to the vapid also parasocial identity that many build around their connection to corporations, to the heinous crimes the "corporation" commits on a global scale, often totally around the objective of sucking resources and wealth out of a particular place and/or people.
