Companies and projects can get E-Corp certified if they:
- publish their email templates publicly
- are regularly audited by anon user accounts (created by the e-corp project)
- honor unsubscribes per type
- have a unsubscribe from all in emails link
- have a unsubscribe from this type in emails link
- link to their published notification surface area doc
- clicking any "unsubscribe from this type" or "unsubscribe from all" link is honored immediately (meaning "are you sure?" or "enter your email" follow ups after clicking/tapping)
Can work for push notifications too
we might start it up again if there is any interest (reply to this message)
that being said, great looking app!
I'm not surprised given how much "influencer economy" marketing there is (also, I advertise the site on Tiktok/IG/YT) but I'm over-joyed when I see good ol' fashioned websites.
Even then, they seem to be older sites :/
Other good sources for small website discovery: - https://cloudhiker.net/ - https://theuselessweb.com/ - https://www.boredbutton.com/
- Rejection therapy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rejection_Therapy): get rejected by another person at least once per day. Great practice.
- Gardening. Shut off the computer and leave the phone at home. Plan to have several hours doing something you enjoy (for me that is gardening, hikes, beach, ocean) with no screens
- Exercise. Even if you don't do it at all, start like a child. Choose an activity you can imagine yourself realistically doing for the next few years. Bouldering, Biking, Power Lifting, Crossfit, Running, Yoga, Calisthenics.
- Treat your body and mind like a temple. As you consume something (food, digital) ask yourself: 'is this serving me?'. If it isn't or gives pause, explore alternatives. One of many reasons I don't drink anymore.
- Toastmasters (https://www.toastmasters.org/) or Improv club. I had a few years where I noticed my speaking skills plummeted. Toastmasters was recommended and I loved the playful club.
- Lunchclub (https://lunchclub.com/). Casual way to chat with other people in tech and other industries. Lots of people there are also working on social skills
did you know that "institutionalization" also resolves to the English numerical contraction: "i18n"?
here's a tool to test for conflicts in other words (a11y, k8s, ets):
Less for the “i can’t focus without some external accountability”-pitch it seems to market itself as and more for the serendipitous network of people doing interesting things
I sort of do this for physical projects too. I call it the "stub your toe method"
Put the physical things on the ground around the house and if you stub your toe on it, address the thing!
thanks for sharing
The tool is still a WIP as it isn't portable between machines -- https://github.com/higgins/privatize

To regularly remove any files in commonly dirty directories that haven't been viewed in a week

in general: small, bit-sized projects that solve a problem i have or something that has been on my mind for a while
