hgazx··on Wikipedia: Long-Term Abuse
Interesting that they have a public webpage like that, with real names, locations, IP addresses, and other data that clearly falls under gdpr protection.
hgazx··on Company sends remote worker photo of herself, fires her for going to kitchen
We don’t know if this person is accomplishing their job duties.
hgazx··on Company sends remote worker photo of herself, fires her for going to kitchen
“Y’all these people done locked my computer. They done locked my computer because I was in the kitchen cooking. Bro, this is why they don’t want us working from home,”

Is this person really working customer service? Also, are they admitting to cooking for themselves in company time?

hgazx··on Eating horsemeat in France
Rabbit is popular in paella.
hgazx··on Unix didn't use to support '#!', a brief history
Off topic: why isn’t it “didn’t use”?
hgazx··on Dmitry Rogozin has been dismissed as director general of Roscosmos
Why is “Russia for Russians” bs? Sounds like a reasonable thing to say even if you disagree.
hgazx··on Gambling and Adult content DNS blocking using Mullvad VPN
He said superior.
hgazx··on Retbleed: New speculative execution attack sends Intel and AMD scrambling
I want an extension that disables JavaScript by default and then allows me to enable and disable JavaScript for the current site that I’m visiting (and all of its dependencies; I don’t want to deal with enabling it also for its cdns etc) with only one click and then remembers my setting. Does that exist?
hgazx··on You wouldn't download a back end
Positions and names of NPCs, quest texts, encounter mechanics, texts said by NPCs, I think item names (not completely sure), etc are all stored in the server and are sent over the wire to the player from the server. That’s quite clearly a copyright violation.
hgazx··on You wouldn't download a back end
Even if the code is completely new, you need a lot of copyrighted material to run a wow server.
hgazx··on You wouldn't download a back end
The latter.

Have you looked at the current world?

hgazx··on Russian gas flows to Europe
> The US has been telling Europe to get off of Russian gas & oil for decades, under multiple administrations

Yeah and buy American liquefied gas instead. Thanks but no thanks.

hgazx··on Irwin – the protector of Lichess from all chess players villainous
I suppose that only completely newbie cheaters would think of taking the same amount of time to make each move. It’s like the first rule of pretending to be a human: add a random delay to all of your actions.
hgazx··on Apple, Google, Facebook's AV1 standards group under EU antitrust investigation
“Gets tricked”. It’s incredible the things that some people come up with to excuse the EU.
hgazx··on Parents sue TikTok, saying children died after viewing ‘blackout challenge’
I was under the impression that it was impossible to kill yourself in such a manner. I thought that you’d pass out and immediately start breathing again.
hgazx··on Blocked Persons and Letters of Marque
I assume that all of that is currently possible and I’m not terrified.
hgazx··on Delayed Messages on iOS
It doesn’t allow me to do this. If I ask to create a timer and then ask to create another I’m asked if I want to replace the previous one.
hgazx··on Use of special characters in usernames on YouTube has been limited
I wish all websites would only allow ascii characters as usernames. Having the full spectrum of Unicode available has brought nothing good.
hgazx··on When network is faster than browser cache (2020)
When I had a very old and slow hard disk I ran my browsers without disk cache precisely because of this reason.
hgazx··on The collapsing quality of dev.to (2021)
Jesus, what a clusterfuck. It’s spam.
hgazx··on Twitter Notes
Calling videos without an audio track “gifs” has been done for years now.
hgazx··on Ask HN: Has anyone made any serious money selling Android apps?
The situation of games is dire. I wish there was a good rpg that I could pay for upfront, without micro transactions. I don’t even look for one because it’s unlikely to exist.
hgazx··on Why is Apache clinging to OpenOffice?
Is it me or the second picture or whatever that is doesn’t load?
hgazx··on Microsoft Donated Money to Gnome: Remember How They Attacked Open Source Before
How’s that Microsoft’s fault?
hgazx··on Cloudflare had a partial outage
Is this why 4chan is down?
hgazx··on Mosquito swatter gamer mod with kill counter, sound and rechargeable battery
It’s 2022.

More like “hospital websites are sending sensitive medical information to Facebook”
hgazx··on Tell HN: Banned from LinkedIn for Reporting Wickr Drug Spam
Are you comparing a public park to the website of a multibillionaire corporation?
hgazx··on Apple Could Kill CAPTCHAs with Private Access Tokens
That has existed since forever, for example, with the purpose of selling App Store reviews.
