Hardcore hearing protection?
Noise cancelling headphones?
Handheld sound insulation "shield"?
Gravelmaps has been a huge help, so has google maps using street view to check for gravel or if necessary the width of the shoulder. Even on side roads that haven't been streetview'd you can still check it at intersections to see.
The planning is VERY time consuming though, lots of permutations of routes to get between 2 points when the goal is to stay off paved surfaces each with various tradeoffs. It would be VERY cool if gravelmap let you input a start and end point and gave you a best route suggestion. Or even if google let you select gravel only.
Saw was expensive, yeah.. but they hold their value on the second hand market, if you ever even see them for sale.
I had a cabinet maker over last week, after he noticed my sawstop he showed me his 2 partially missing fingers.
The company also isn't playing games, the saw is beautiful and a lifetime purchase.

There's a river that runs through the e-waste garbage dump, straight into the ocean less than 1 Mile away.
thankfully the security on vehicles is so good that a hack like this would be impossible eh?
On the inside of the synths we make, there's a link to a documentation repository. If people are desperate enough to remove screws, why not help them?
I only read the headline and was feeling justified purchasing 3000 pounds of globally mined steel, aluminum, rubber, plastic, graphite, copper, nickel, manganese and cobalt.
In that show, policy makers use a computer simulation of the world to quantify the limits that they set on emissions, and all of the nations in the world come together to make it happen and look back on this age as an important lesson.
I believe there's a low-res VHS rip of it available somewhere if you search, which gives the whole thing an eerie feeling of discovering an alternate-reality documentary.
The waiting car sped up, made it's left turn right into the crossing pedestrian. Pedestrian died in the hospital and I never ate my Chinese food.
How can that sequence of traffic lights even happen? For the pedestrian to get the OK, she must have hit the crossing button - system knows a person is there, why give cars the OK to turn right into her, leaving the responsibility on the driver to see and yield?
I've been an F1 fan for years, but also someone who presumably cares about the environment and has concerns over the growing wealth-gap. Those things are hard to reconcile just to be entertained.
Tuning in every week and seeing him make progress, or run into a failure and then eventually overcome it kept me motivated with my own personal project. In fact I was even racing him, trying to finish mine before the MMX was completed. The internet is full of b.s. influencers telling you to be motivated, but Martin and the Marble Machine definitely kept me going and kept it fun.

It's pretty cool to see, but in the end it seemed like way more effort than nailing some 2x4's together.
