Yeah, The Netherlands is flat, which helps a lot, but I live in Scheveningen, really close to some hills! Still, at least I'm getting plenty of exercise, no matter how lazy I am sometimes :)

I've just learned to bike (I've been living in the Netherlands for over 3 years and just months ago started biking), and I deeply regret not getting an e-bike.
I also bought a car last year (EV / Tesla). Coming from a culture where biking isn't that popular, I was in doubt about whether to get an e-bike or a regular bike. I decided to go with the cheaper option (because I also have a car), and thanks to the fact the Netherlands is flat, I can do most day chores now by riding my bike... but... if I had opted to get the e-bike, I'd actually only be using the car when the weather is pretty bad and when I want to travel to someplace really far away.
People underestimate how useful a bike (and, especially, an e-bike) is. With the right infrastructure, at least!

I seek new opportunities to work with Go / open-source. I'm a software engineer with 15+ years of experience, 8+ years of experience with Go, and plenty of experience working on challenging projects on startups. #golang #opensource
If you read the text and have an urge to travel, please make sure to be safe. It's extremely easy to get out of the beaten path and get in trouble. I've had a couple of close calls in the desert in my early 20s (I'm 34 now), which I deeply regret.
Always have plenty of water (for multiple days if it's dry/too hot/too cold) and capable communication devices (and a smartphone won't cut it in the middle of a desert).
IKEA is struggling to build decent quality software, from what I've heard: Too much bureaucracy and top-down structure making everything slow/awkward.
I've applied for a position there twice after hearing from recruiters, and my impression is that they're a bit lost on how to build stuff, and not helping themselves...
There are so many reasons why this kind of behavior is toxic... If the intention was to keep the books, but for some reason they decided to return it, that's fine. Even buying thinking you might end up having to return it is still fine, mostly. However, buying with the sole purpose of lending for free, especially from a small business, is awful.
Geez. It seems you've no idea how a business is run.
I can't do much in terms of personal usage of my company issued laptop (MacBook M1 Max Pro), so I never use it for anything personal, and even stuff like +1 a comment on a public GitHub repository for a random opensource project that we might use and that I discover while working I prefer to just reopen the link with my personal computer and do so. I've no personal accounts for anything whatsoever configured on my machine.
I don't think this should be the default for everyone, though. These limitations depends on the industry you're in, and your actual security risks/exposure.
I hope Copilot and similar technologies weakens the copyright establishment.

Also, they are for very different stuff.. and it's hard coming up with a small easy name that hasn't been used by anything else nowadays.
That said, you can go a long way writing your own simple pure SQL queries, so prefer that over using a query builder :)
From my own experience + the fact that it dries at a much lower temperature.
That said, I also feel like that's a poor choice considering you can now get a A+++ heat pump dryer that's very economical and works quite fast (slightly more time than with a convention dryer, but your clothes will last much longer) anytime (as long as it's not stuck in a icy cold basement) regardless the weather.
Another mistake some people make is using an all-in-one washer/dryer: they are the worst option ever. Terrible at everything by design.
* rhetorical question, JS...
It was actually one of the main drivers for me to start using Go instead of JavaScript for server-side applications and CLIs about 8 years ago.
Well said!
