henryw··on Does the human lifespan have a limit?
Mid 30s. Gauging by how my joints feel and how quickly I recover from physical exercise and injuries.

henryw··on Does the human lifespan have a limit?
Dr. Sinclair's book Lifespan (https://www.amazon.com/Lifespan-Why-Age_and-Dont-Have/dp/150...) talks about extending the health span of people. I've been personally taking 1g/day of NMN for almost 3 years now, and I feel like aging has paused or is going backwards slowly.
henryw··on New material that can absorb and release enormous amounts of energy
Can this be made into bulletproof clothing that looks like normal clothes? That would be cool

This reminds me of the movie The Island where they cloned people as organ backups https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0399201/.

Atea Pharmaceutical is finishing up phase 3 trial of a Covid anti-viral pill in November that might be more effective (based on phase 2 trial data) and doesn't mutate the virus: https://ateapharma.com/at-527/
henryw··on The coronavirus is here to stay – here’s what that means
I think long covid is temporary for most people. I had it for 4 months last year and have recovered. Got to stay positive through out it, have faith it’ll get better, and do everything you can to stay healthy
henryw··on We at $Famous_company switched to $Hyped_technology
What are some examples of $HYPED_TECHNOLOGY and $FLASHY_LANGUAGE these days? All I can remember is Ruby on Rails.

henryw··on Coronavirus relapse cases continue to rise in S. Korea
"The KCDC said it took 13.5 days on average for people to be retested positive for COVID-19 after being released from quarantine."

Maybe they were never fully recovered.

henryw··on Robinhood trading site seizes up, customers miss stock rally

henryw··on Coronavirus May Have Spread in U.S. for Weeks, Gene Sequencing Suggests
If the virus has been spreading undetected in Washington since mid-January, that could mean that anywhere from 150 to 1,500 people may have it, with about 300 to 500 people the most likely range, said Dr. Mike Famulare, a principal research scientist at the Institute for Disease Modeling in Bellevue, Wa., who performed the analysis. These people “have either been infected and recovered, or currently are infected now,” he said.

henryw··on Focus has become more valuable than intelligence (2018)
I think you can have both time to focus (work time) and time to interact with others (break time). I think using "focus" as an excuse to not interact with others may not be the most healthy way to live life.
henryw··on New York Fed Adds $115.14B in Short-Term Liquidity to Markets
There's an explanation here: https://wolfstreet.com/2019/11/06/whats-behind-the-feds-bail... & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORGFtWowKKM

Basically there are actors borrowing at the low repo rates and using it on higher rate government backed mortgage products. Banks with money don't want to lend to these actors, hence the repo rate hike.

henryw··on 51% of young voters believe humanity could be wiped out within 15 years
51% seems very extreme. Is Silicon Valley living in a bubble? On a side note, Foster City will be flooded with just a 1M [1] rise in sea level 20 years out [2].

henryw··on Udacity restructures operations, lays off 20 percent of its workforce
I have taken a few ND, and I feel that the React ND was the best and most practical one. I used it at work, where as none of the other ones applied.

The first quote by Ray Dalio is from his most excellent book https://www.amazon.com/Principles-Life-Work-Ray-Dalio/dp/150...
