handler··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (October 2020)
Geneva | Full Time | Senior Web Engineer, Senior Android Engineer, Senior Product Designer | NYC and REMOTE | https://www.genevachat.com/

Geneva is an early-stage startup based in NYC building a new kind of social network — where privacy is respected and ads are a thing of the past. We unite the best features of group messaging apps and social platforms, creating a modern digital space where you can have conversations with all the groups you care about. We are an intellectually curious, driven, and results-oriented team with a track record of building successful businesses, backed by proven investors.

Technologies that we use: TypeScript, React, GQL, Redux-Saga, Cypress, Enzyme, Kotlin, Dagger

nice, i'll use this with my significant other to help debug stuff while we're both at work. way better than a screenshare.

handler··on Scrap Your Cake Pattern Boilerplate: Dependency Injection Using the Reader Monad
yeah, it is still a similar amount of overhead in typing
handler··on Scrap Your Cake Pattern Boilerplate: Dependency Injection Using the Reader Monad
in general your repository functions will be wrapped in some monad, whether it's Reader/Maybe/List doesn't really matter as far as the for comprehension is concerned.
handler··on Concept - Simple Collaborative Web Pages
woh, awesome... and that's all real time?
handler··on Coroutine Event Loops in Javascript
so comprehensive!

i wouldn't mind a tl;dr ;?j

handler··on Show HN: Early Adopter cred from your Twitter & Facebook IDs

handler··on Show HN: WikiMaze

thimmy is right though gleitz, he is wayyyy better than you

handler··on Show HN: WikiMaze
it caches questions for when you're offline o/\o
handler··on Show HN: WikiMaze
also of note is that dynamic generation of "similar topics", so that the multiple choice remains difficult. +1 for freebase!
handler··on Show HN: WikiMaze
awesome. unlimited trivia questions generated by wikipedia.
handler··on Show HN: What movie to see in theaters, powered by Hunch

handler··on Show HN: weekend project, Find Similar Restaurants with the Hunch API
noted, i'll wordmerge the word "movies" and see if i can come up with any cool names for this ;?j
handler··on Show HN: weekend project, Find Similar Restaurants with the Hunch API

handler··on Show HN: weekend project, Find Similar Restaurants with the Hunch API
hunch gives recommendations about pretty much everything, you can check out their api here: http://hunch.com/developers/v1/

i am specifically using "get-similar-results" and "get-recommendations" limited by the location you enter

handler··on Show HN: weekend project, Find Similar Restaurants with the Hunch API
thanks for pointing that out. will investigate and forward to jQuery UI.
handler··on Wordmerge
there are multiple meanings of the word... but point taken
handler··on Wordmerge
because you want to support the developer?
handler··on Wordmerge
it was a tough decision, but every time we thought about it, we had nightmares of this image: http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_kwmmcouLYR1qz9v9y.jpg
handler··on Wordmerge
crosswauction is pretty good too, though i couldn't imagine a user figuring out how to spell that...
handler··on Wordmerge
my favorites so far have been: gourmaniac, barbequephoria, and japanimal
handler··on Ask HN: Good app ideas to learn a new platform
for web development, i feel like creating twitter is a nice small beginner project. anything that has a one to one, one to many, and many to many relationship would do the trick.
handler··on Regex Visualization: give it a regex and see the state diagram
awesome. the best would be if you could go in the opposite direction. like if you could create regular expressions in the image view and have it output the text version.

this would probably help a lot of people who aren't 'ninjas' like you and me ;?j

handler··on Show HN: WerdMerge: A Portmanteau Generator With Phonemes
clicking a star votes for a combination. top voted combinations show up at the bottom of the page.

showing how a merge would be spelled is a pretty tough problem. if anyone had any clever ideas about this, i'd love to hear it.

handler··on Show HN: WerdMerge: A Portmanteau Generator With Phonemes
the hardest part about this site for me was finding a good dictionary of words->phonemes... unfortunately what i found did not come with emphasis. if you want to try to find a better dictionary for me i'd check it out. good luck though with the way google's search is these days ;?j
