Clover is looking to radically change how healthcare is delivered in the US. We have one goal - to improve the quality of life of our members and physicians.
We are using a combination of user-centered design, data science and a modern technology stack to reimagine the elderly health insurance market. We are already showing we can dramatically reduce hospitalizations, the most costly component of this $1 Trillion dollar a year industry.
We have grown considerably in the last 12 months, securing First Round and Sequoia as backs. Looking for bright individuals to fill senior python devs, web eng, data eng, security, dev ops, data science and design roles.

Do you know of any examples where this has shown an impact?
Part of the reason I asked was to see if anyone could suggest a different approach. I do think there is a way to achieve a win by focusing down the goal and working within the constraints you describe.
I full expect to do some onboarding work e.g. create videos / instructions etc. I'm looking for the right project kit to get them started. The equivalent for my Grandpa's generation was a radio. I wonder what today's "gateway project" would be?
You do what you need to get and your family through this. That's only only game that's important. The rest of this is just icing. If you are in Europe or the Bay Area feel free to reach out to me @kzhu. I'll help if I can.
These are still unpolished thoughts. I want to explore more fully in a future post.
Increasingly I try to look at success as a more fluid notion. I feel it has many dimensions that constantly evolve with my changing world view and life. It can be valuable to set goals but I think it's just as important not to be myopic to the rest of the world at their expense.
I feel a lot of it comes down to attitude. My grandpa would still have been a happy man had he not had the opportunity to pioneer medical science. Prior to his 60s, his curiosity and willingness explore meant he had a fulfilling life. He wasn't expecting and waiting for a big success. He was focused on what he was able to do and made sure he did it to the best of his abilities.
These are some quick thoughts on a bus and I apologise if it seem like I'm being preachy. I'm only 29 and very much still figuring it all out. I dare say I will be doing that until I die. Please share your thoughts, especially if they run counter to what I've written.
That said, most startups experience plateaus and dips. These are the moments that truly test the fortitude and resolve of the team.
As for the hair, we're aware there are some styles missing and we have more options in the pipeline.
If you want you can send through a photo of the styles you have in mind and I'll pass it onto our illustrator.
Hope that helps.
