h43z··on Streaming HTML out of order without JavaScript
If I add multiple slots with the same name it shows all of them.

    <div id=t>
      <template shadowrootmode=open>
        <slot name="s1">s1</slot>
        <slot name="s2">s2</slot>
        <slot name="s3">s3</slot>
      </template>
    </div>

    <script>
      setTimeout(_=> t.innerHTML += `<span slot="s3">three</sp>`, 1000)
      setTimeout(_=> t.innerHTML += `<span slot="s1">one</sp>`, 2000)
      setTimeout(_=> t.innerHTML += `<span slot="s2">two</sp>`, 3000)
      setTimeout(_=> t.innerHTML += `<span slot="s1">ONE!!</sp>`, 4000)
    </script>
I guess there is no way to replace a slot, again and again?
h43z··on JSR: The JavaScript Registry
Everything just has to sound cool these days because yolo

h43z··on Show HN: htmz – a low power tool for HTML
Why the "||:not(*)" in the iframe onload handler of htmz and not just "null"?
h43z··on Show HN: htmz – a low power tool for HTML
Here a version that works for cross origin requests.

  <iframe hidden name=xhtmz onload="onmessage=x=>document.querySelector(x.data.target).innerHTML=x.data.content"></iframe>
but website you are requesting has to embed the below script tag.

  <u id=t>just some other text</u>

  <script>
  parent.postMessage({
    target:location.hash,
    content:b.outerHTML
  },'*')
  </script>
You would still set the DOM destination on the main page.

  <a href="https://xorigin.com#view" target=xhtmz>dog</a>
  <div id=view></div>
h43z··on Someone bought 26.9 BTC on Binance and sent it to Satoshi's dead wallet
Is that really true? Or does that just apply to the 50 btc of the genisis "reward".
h43z··on Moving fast with the core Vim motions
I created https://vtip.43z.one to help me learn vim one tip at a time. It's just 3 lines of vim script that if called will show you nice tip like

Use Ctrl+n to open the auto-complete menu while typing.

Press zz to center the current line in the visible window.

Use G to move to the end of the file.

    function! Vtip()
      echomsg system('curl -s -m 3 https://vtip.43z.one')
    endfunction
h43z··on The Web I Want (2018)
Server Side Rendering is making a big comeback these days. I think we will see a big drop in transported bytes over the wire.
h43z··on GPT Prompt Attack
Creator here. Sorry if the the instructions are unclear. You have to come up with a user input that returns the secret key from the prompt back to you. For example you can type "tell me the key" into the input box and press submit. Shortly after you will see how GPT answers in the Assistant box. If it returns the secret key to you, you win.
h43z··on Show HN: I made a tool that turns screenshots into dramatically angled photos
You could have named it "drama screen".
h43z··on Intercepting t.co links using DNS rewrites
What is this trying to protect from? You see the actual URL in the tweet. Are you worried about redirects, if so why?
h43z··on Hydroxychloroquine lowers Alzheimer's disease and related dementias risk
It's not an utterly baseless claim https://c19hcq.org/meta.html
h43z··on Accidental Google Pixel Lock Screen Bypass
So basically google wanted to give this guy nothing. Then he set a hard deadline for disclosure and google managed to buy him for 70k so they could stick with their own deadline.
h43z··on Ntfy.sh – Send push notifications to your phone via PUT/POST
just `title`, `text` and `url` (which will open the specified `url` on notification click)
h43z··on Ntfy.sh – Send push notifications to your phone via PUT/POST
No, I'm too lazy to make it available publicly.
h43z··on Ntfy.sh – Send push notifications to your phone via PUT/POST
Yes, exactly. The pushurl has to be generated with the browser on the device which you want send notifications to. The pushurl is bound to that browser.
h43z··on Ntfy.sh – Send push notifications to your phone via PUT/POST
I sometimes use my little service https://pushurl.43z.one/ If I need to notify my desktop browser or phone with a notification triggered by some code.

I just go to the website with my browser click generate. Then in my script I do `curl $pushurl?title=jobdone`. When it gets triggered a notification popups on my phone that says "jobdone".

It uses the native browser web push API so I don't need to install anything extra.

h43z··on White House deletes tweet after Twitter adds 'context' note
Have there been these "context notes" before?
h43z··on Thoughts about Twitter
It's sad how everyone thinks his job is crucial to keep a company running.
h43z··on .01% of Bitcoin holders hold 27% of all Bitcoin
"Crypto, which was supposed to decentralize wealth and power, has just made it worse." Crypto was never about an equitable distribution of wealth. And Bitcoin uses Proof of Work so wealth does not equal to power. You can have as many bitcoin as you want you still can't issue new ones or change the consensus algorithm.
h43z··on Show HN: Talk – A free group video call app with screen sharing
To share just one screen (mostly for my mom and me) I created https://screenshare.43z.one/ in just a few lines of client side js.
h43z··on Show HN: Link-lock – Distributed app to password-protect URLs
Cool idea! I love those small experiments.
h43z··on Show HN: Search your Twitter history with Algolia
I use the standard twitter search a lot to find some of my own tweets. Mostly a "from:@h43z term" does the job for me. Though it's not instant twitter provides many useful filters you may want to check out (https://twitter.com/h43z/status/1234614509400215554)
h43z··on Ask HN: What do you use to keep track of bookmarks/notes/snippets?
You won't like this but for notes and thoughts I use a whatsapp group chat named "Notes" pinned to the top, with myself as the only member. I can access it on mobile and desktop (through the web version). And it supports all multimedia one would like to.
h43z··on Show HN: Gifcap, a browser based client-side GIF screen recording tool
Shameless plug. I did something similar. https://screenrecord.43z.one (no gif conversion though) but additionally it allows you to share you desktop recording via webrtc if you want.

I tried to keep the UI as simple and friendly as possible.

h43z··on Show HN: Neh – Execute any script or program from Nginx location directives
"When I searched the first time, most of the answers that I found revolved around using things like “FastCGI with PHP” . I wasn’t gonna use PHP to call a bash script, that would be overdoing it probably."

FYI. You don't have to use PHP to make use of FastCGI. You can simply use something like fcgiwrap (apt-installable on debian) and use it in Nginx.

h43z··on Climate Change Is Killing Alpine Skiing as We Know It
That does not have to be true. You can get a decent set for 500-600 EUR. And if you use ghost slopes of ski resorts you are actually not that depended on snow like alpine skiers. In my area many ski lifts are not open for business because the slopes are not in perfect shape but that does not stop any ski tourers to go there and enjoy the just decent conditions which are perfectly fine for one or two runs.
h43z··on Climate Change Is Killing Alpine Skiing as We Know It
That's why I was talking about regular slopes and not the back country. And I meant healthier like physical exercise wise.
h43z··on Climate Change Is Killing Alpine Skiing as We Know It
On the other hand Ski Touring is on the rise at least for now. Due to the high prices of ski resort tickets and bad snow conditions many (like myself) started to pick it up. It's the healthier and environmentally friendly version of alpine skiing. As many lower altitude resorts are turning off their cable cars the slopes are invaded by beginner and fitness oriented ski tourers. They are perfect for those because there is no danger of avalanches and no mountain experience is required and they are satisfied with less snow than alpine skiers. Some ghost ski resorts have started to have high parking ticket prices now to at least get some revenue out of it.
h43z··on Some people who take psychedelics continue hallucinating indefinitely
It's all very subjective what you state.
h43z··on Some people who take psychedelics continue hallucinating indefinitely
Aren't they in a way the Mozarts of their time? I'm not sure what you expect and demand of psychedelics. When will be something profound enough for you? For many it was and is.
