guwop··on Denmark to build one of the most powerful AI supercomputers
how is 1500 H100's considered "one of the worlds most powerful AI supercomputers" ? i dont get how that adds up. meta got 150.000 H100's delivered in 2023 alone?
guwop··on Ask HN: Open source alternative equivalent to Palantir Foundry
It would be cool. But it is so many already-opensourced things that needs to go together in a good way... i think thats palantirs MOAT
guwop··on Sora: Creating video from text
Obviously they did not get "wiped" out. Where can i use Sora right now ?
guwop··on Overpass Turbo: A Web Based Data Mining Tool for OpenStreetMap
Hmmmm. If i want to do larger scale extractions of OSM data into a layer - what's the move? I remember someone on here posted a way to do it
guwop··on Open Infrastructure Map

guwop··on Open Infrastructure Map
So much geo stuff on HN today! hallelujah
guwop··on Show HN: Atlas – GIS and interactive maps in the browser
this is so cool! you just know that it's real shit when the website looks like that. i wonder if this is gonna be the new "quality" stamp - a website not looking like the generic react tailwind app but rather stuff like this?!
guwop··on Show HN: Atlas – GIS and interactive maps in the browser
I got excited! But it seems this is just a mapbox gl wrapper?
guwop··on Operation Triangulation: What you get when attack iPhones of researchers
Crazy!
guwop··on Soccer video analysis from your match videos
Cool. I've been thinking about where to find an alternative to the Veo Technologies camera system that most clubs use but is pretty expensive. This seems like it could work
guwop··on Qanat

guwop··on Bézier Curves and the logic behind them
will never forget my original introduction to building bézier curves: making an aimbot look human by bezier curving the mouse path to the target!
guwop··on SeaGlass: City-Wide IMSI-Catcher Detection (2017)
this is from 17' does anyone know of any updated resources on imsi detection? perhaps some cool papers?
guwop··on Meta forced to reveal anonymous Facebook user's identity
i think 'in the name of stopping AI agents' is much more likely to be what sells this. perhaps hate spread by AI?
guwop··on How to find a street in 2 minutes [video]
I agree, GPT3.5 has been working insanely well for me when making overpass turbo queries. I guess there's lots of training data in the dataset for it. Made a quick 10 liner that takes in a bbox & search prompt -> GPT3.5 -> overpass turbo -> geojson

i.e. "banks in my area" a la google maps here: https://i.imgur.com/pSRn1xo.png

In my experience it seems like prompting for older technologies works much better on large LLMs, i guess it makes sense considering that there is probably more crawlable documentation out there

EDIT: someone in this thread linked a tool which seems to do this: https://github.com/rowheat02/osm-gpt

guwop··on OSRS Map Viewer
It's 3d, doesn't look like any mapping library i know of
guwop··on The LLama Effect: Leak Sparked a Series of Open Source Alternatives to ChatGPT
The future is going to be hilarious. Just ask the model who made it!
guwop··on Replacing Mapbox with open source solutions
Thanks a bunch, pygeoapi sounds very simple, i'll take a look.
guwop··on Replacing Mapbox with open source solutions
So to get it straight:

OSM.pbf file -> ogr2ogr -> PostGIS?

I currently use a .mbtiles file and plug it into tileserver-gl, but i guess in theory you could just import OSM to PostGIS and then add the PostGIS as a source in tileserver-gl? That would be amazing

guwop··on Replacing Mapbox with open source solutions
Do you know of any good alternatives to geoserver if i have a PostGIS db with some feature gis data and i need to expose it to other people through a Web Feature Service?
guwop··on G-3PO: A protocol droid for Ghidra, or GPT-3 for reverse-engineering
woah, that's insane... how accurate is this in your experience?
guwop··on Ask HN: What are your predictions for 2023?
... one of these is not like the other, lol
guwop··on “I’m selling data of 400M Twitter users that was scraped via a vulnerability”
Can you expand a bit on how apps like Palantir could be used for this?
guwop··on Turn the radio volume down for adverts and DJs talking
> Sure the music won't be custom tailored by ... neural networks expressly designed to increase Sweden's internal revenue

hilarious take! I have found that any perfect recommendation takes the joy out of music listening for me. I feel like the highs and lows of good vs. bad songs are taken away and then its just a constant stream of background music.
