gusfrehse··on Ask HN: What's the best lecture series you've seen?
Can vouch for the quantum mechanics one. Perfectly understandable while introducing heavy math machinery.

Hah wait until you find about chimarrão
gusfrehse··on Ask HN: Am I getting older or did typing on the iPhone become unbearable?
In my samsung you can use the "trackpad" swiping up/down. It gives Home/End functionality.
gusfrehse··on Show HN: Get conversational practice in over 20 languages by talking to an AI
Really nice, but ugh... it doesn't have english?
gusfrehse··on GVM: A GPU Virtual Machine for IOMMU-Capable Computers
Do you still need to get the VBIOS from the gpu and patch it manually? tbh that was the scariest part
gusfrehse··on Make the Raku programming language familiar to C++ programmers
Just use cerr for debugging. It is not buffered so it always outuputs, even in unexpected crashes.

gusfrehse··on Ask HN: Any weird tips for weight loss?
Maybe should be on another thread but: any weird tips for weight gain?
gusfrehse··on Ask HN: Why do you love programming?
You can apply too much math in it, it's incredible.

Computer graphics has all the matrices/spaces/quaternions that are super interesting.

Then you have functional programming and all the things that come with it.

You use binary, not decimal.

You can make graphs really easily.

And all of these are interactive.

It's just a big math playground.

gusfrehse··on A half-hour to learn Rust
The way I see it, that would mean the function 'fair_dice' has type 'i32'. While in this case it maybe fine, if the function had arguments, it would be ambiguous.
