You said nothing incorrect in that particular comment and I agree. Sorry I implied your head was little, clearly I was wildly wrong. But stating that there are pro-israel individuals (Jewish and otherwise) lobby groups (which is true, and has been public information for a long time), as well as cultural-historical-political motivations for supporting Israel, it does not follow that the US technocratic elite and the military industrial complex are "in the pocket" of Israel, which is what the loudest reactionaries are implying or outright stating. The truth is in fact, quite a lot more disheartening.
Why on earth would any elites criticise Israel? As a state, it serves the purposes of the military industrial complex very well - it's useful to keep around. As a public opinion topic, politicians in the west will use Israel (pro or against) to get votes or public support. Like I said, "getting rid of Israel and the Jews" (which is what many people on the left and right, explicitly or implicitly want - not to mention this is the goal of Shia Islam nationalism) - won't actually change much other than decrease the ability of Western elites to project power into the region. I don't support this goal, as most extremists do, because although I'm anti-Israel, I'm not a psychopath. Cute you think a second-rate, self-serving, opportunist like Netanyahu is secretly pulling the strings though. Watch Israel die - and then I suppose you'll be scratching your little head wondering why the technocrats still run your world.
Oh please, you can't honestly believe that the "The West" (primarily the US elites - and European- that essentially own democracy at this point) care about suffering? It's about winning and control of resources. Israel is committing war crimes - but that's business as usual. There are absolutely people that think Israel is essentially secretly controlling the world - and yes, they are stupid, and yes their stupidity is either encouraged or a "happy accident". Although, Israel has it's own agenda (removal of all power of the Palestinian Muslim population) and survival as a state, it serves it's purpose as a tool for the above mentioned elite and the states they use (the US primarily) to further their agenda (which is basically to stay in power indefinitely and continue to do whatever they want to do without any reprucussions).
It's actually just the elite class of mafioso that have weasled their way into power. Israel is convenient for them to support, as amongst other things they can test weapons on the population there. But "Israel secretly controlling everything" is a cute narrative for profoundly naive people of limited intelligence (on the right and left). Get rid of Israel and kill all the Jews - you'll still have the same class of people controlling everything, but with less leverage in the middle east (if Israel goes to the Muslims and not the Christian evangelicals or some secular corporate group, in which case business as usual). Having a scapegoat makes the world a nice easy place to understand, and more importantly makes people easy to control.
It had nice cinematic moments - but it felt like GTA with a Hollywood cyberpunk movie attached. Going from bunnyhopping around rooftops and killing 1000s of gangsters and cops in broad daylight with heavy weapons and ridiculous cyberware, to a fairly railroaded narrative about apparently obscure mercenary V barely surviving was some tonal whiplash.
Yup - in the UK, paracetamol is usually recommended for general pain relief before Ibuprofen. Additionally, Ibuprofen and NSAIDs have a lot of interactions which can make them unsafe - SSRIs or blood thinners for example.
It's endlessly interesting to me that despite the fact that the modern educated middle class are overwhelmingly left wing and dominate the "cultural sphere" (because they can afford to), there's still a reluctance to really talk about class and their own position in the class system in favour of lip service supporting minorities and marketable individual identities. Originally the struggles of the labour class and gaining support and solidarity from those that had more wealth and opportunities was the most central core concern of the left wing. It's probably also the primary reason for the rise of reactionary right wing parties.
Actually - it's not Israeli influence. It's pro-Israel influence. Important difference. This includes lobby organisations funded or founded by wealthy Jews, conservative Christian lobbyists, pro-arms trade interests, and geopolitical interests (essentially Israel acts as a US military proxy they can use to keep the middle east in check). Not quite Israel secretly pulling strings (which is quite rightly dismissed as traditional boring anti-semetic conspiracy theory wearing a different hat), more of an alignment of interests, which dictator Netenyahu is currently taking advantage of to pursue his own career agenda (complete destruction of Iran and security of Israel from the mindset of a paranoid Israeli nationalist). Naturally, this involves attempting to buy out journalists and promote propaganda - and the Israeli attempts to do this are usually rather inept. What's far more effective is the already existing domestic pro-Israel lobby groups that have a completely above board, and vastly more effective way of funding Israel (and the vastly more powerful US military-financial-geopolitical interests).
Yes, and I'm sure virtuous non-"junkies" such as yourself hold all articles that report or demonstrate negative findings about recreational drug use to the same exacting standards. It must be freeing to have a completely objective perspective and be free from the clouds of any ideology or bias.
I see the drugs are bad crowd are out in force. I'm sure they'll treat any negative stories about drug users or the effects of drugs with just as much scepticism, prejudice, and criticism as they demonstrate here. How wonderful it must be to be powered by objective reason and free from confirmation bias.
