grechon Toyota CEO talks about why he isn’t all-in on EVs

According to the posted article, Toyota does have plans to offer several all-electric models in 3 years (in 2025). My main takeaway from what Toyoda said was Toyota's goal to offer as many options as possible to its customers - this includes ICE, hybrids, BEV, and hydrogen cars. What Toyota is refusing is letting go of developing all other types of vehicles and focusing only on BEV, which is fair imo.

1 USD = 3.6 AED

Also, the article states that the offer was for $16,000 in equivalent local currency, so ~AED60,000.

grechon Modern JavaScript Tutorial

The OP (javascript.info) and Eloquent Javascript go great together - I used these two together all the time. Eloquent Javascript is great for deep dives into select topics and is well-written. OP is great as a reference guide while you're writing code.

grechon Importance of muscle mass, strength and cardiorespiratory fitness for longevity

When I first started getting in better health and shape years ago, two resources helped me learn, provide structure, and form habits. One is a lengthy blog post and the other one is a popular book. Both are simple and accessible in their approach.

grechon Show HN: 4K Desktop Wallpaper Generator

Love the minimalist execution. Personally, I consider your tool having no user-facing options a plus (less decision making for me and excitement from complete randomness). I just set one of the wallpapers as my desktop background. Thank you

grechon Ask HN: What are the best-designed things you've ever used?

I just got an M1 Macbook Air this week to replace my 2014 Macbook Pro. Performance is cool (lots has already been documented about that), but the battery life is on another level. Charged it on 4 days ago and after about 7 hours of use, it's still at 48% at the time of writing this post. Ditto to what you said about "a beautiful marriage of form and function".

grechon Ask HN: What are the best-designed things you've ever used?

This may be a normie response - but Apple Airpods Pro are one of the best products I've used. After years of using several bluetooth headsets that get finicky (with connections that is), having a set that just connects and works every single time is refreshing. They really changed my behavior - I went from not liking phone conversations at all (getting agitated after a few minutes)to comfortably having long phone calls. I would replace mine immediately if they were lost / broken.
