gogetakame··on Show HN: Episode tracking, where to watch any movie/show, search parties
Oh interesting. I don't think I've heard of Yidio. But AddToTheList gets a lot of data from TMDb (The Movie Database) which is very well maintained and crowdsourced. So it will be up to date and mostly correct.

From a brief look at Yidio, some differences are that AddToTheList is more friend focused. You can add your friends, see what they're watching, their ratings, recommend each other titles, chat with them even. You can also write reviews, comment on reviews, and you build up a watch history as you watch which will lead to interesting personalized stats pages. Check out this one here for example: https://www.addtothelist.com/user/gogetakame/stats/2021

There are a lot of other features too on AddToTheList like Search Party, what's coming/leaving streaming services, notifications for when a tracked title comes to your streaming services, episode reminders, watch next queue, create multiple lists. Just to name some.

Hope you'll check it out!

Also, this is what the season/episode tracking looks like on the iOS app:

Yeah that's the goal! Especially helpful when certain shows change streaming services, or if you stop watching a show for some time, this can help with keeping track of where you were. And the Watch Next queue will show you the next episode to watch as you log them or when new episodes air.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a big update to the AddToTheList app/website I've been working on.

The biggest features are tracking seasons/episodes of shows you watch and Search Party.

Some of the newer features:

* Add season/episode tracking for shows.

* Watch Next queue has been added for episode tracking so you can easily log episodes as you watch them.

* Episodes can be rated, recommended, and messaged to friends.

* Per Episode views have been added to show more details about each episode as well as for easier tracking.

* Reviews can now be written for specific seasons or episodes.

* Search Party! You can now create a Search Party to find out what movie/show to watch in your group. Just start your search party, set your filters, share the link with your friends and start swiping! You can invite friends via the share link even if they are not users on AddToTheList.

* Add Stop Watching button for shows to remove it from the Watch Next queue and stop new episode notifications.

* Movie tracking is more uniform with show tracking now as well and you can see how many times you've watched a movie on the title view itself.

* You can now log movies and shows multiple times on the same day.

* Improved search.

* And much more including already present features like where to watch any movie/show, see what your friends are watching, see when titles are coming to/leaving streaming services, notifications for when your tracked titles come to your streaming services, personalized stats, etc.

iOS app is also available: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/addtothelist/id1534984221

gogetakame··on Show HN: Track what you watch and see where to watch movies and shows
Yeah! You can see where to watch any movie or show; either via a streaming service, or via ads/rent/buy options. This can be viewed by region also.

Hey everyone! The iOS app for AddToTheList is now available!

This will bring the functionality right to your phone and makes it a lot easier and more useful to use.

- Keep track of what all Movies and TV Shows that you watch.

- See where to watch any title.

- You can rate and write reviews for titles as well as view IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes ratings.

- Find out what to watch based on what your friends are watching.

- Share what you love with other users by creating lists.

- Add movies and shows to your lists to get notified when they come to your favorite streaming services and when new seasons/episodes come out.

- Add your friends to easily chat with and recommend titles to each other.

We also wanted to highlight a few new features we've added recently:

1. Where to Watch feature - You can now see where to watch any title. You can check by region as well.

2. Chat feature - You can chat with your friends via the site/app. It's a great way to discuss movies/shows and share titles/lists/reviews.

3. Invite your friends - Invite friends via your Profile view. This will generate a referral link so that when your friend signs up via that link, you'll automatically be friends in AddToTheList.

With all of the content coming out on all of these streaming services (and changing from one service to another), it’s been useful to have this AddToTheList app to keep track of what to actually watch and where to watch it. Hope people like it and find it useful!

gogetakame··on Show HN: Find titles to watch and keep track of everything you watch
Hey everyone! I had previously shared a site I had been working on called AddToTheList.

I’m excited to present Version 2 of the site! It is a complete redesign of the site with way more features and better usability/aesthetic changes. I’ve been working hard on this for the past month so hopefully you will find the new version more useful.

Check it out here: https://www.addtothelist.com

Some of the newer features:

* You can now write reviews for titles.

* Improved search and filtering system for titles (including IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes ratings).

* You can like and comment on reviews and lists now also. The more popular lists and reviews will get featured on the home page!

* You can add tags to your lists and reviews so users can search for them more easily.

* You can now create Ranked lists (rank/order the titles in a list).

* Improved user profile view to see most watched genres and other stats.

* You can add descriptions to your lists.

* See the most popular lists, reviews, and users to find out what to watch.

* You'll be able to edit/create lists much more easily and add titles to them more easily also.

* Titles don't need to be added to lists explicitly to rate them.

* And much more!

Thank you for all of the feedback and I’m hoping that this version will really take off. Make sure to invite your friends to join also! I still have more things planned to come so stay tuned. In the mean time, happy watching! :)

gogetakame··on Show HN: Keep track of everything you watch and easily find things to watch
Hey everyone! I wanted to share something I’ve been working on for some time that I hope you will find useful. It’s called AddToTheList: https://www.addtothelist.com/

You can keep track of everything you’re watching with AddToTheList. You can rate, make notes, and mark which streaming service a title is on. You’ll also be able to see IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes ratings for titles with links to each site if you want more information.

You can add your friends once they’ve signed up as well and then you can easily recommend each other things to watch. You’ll be able to easily see what your friends are watching to get a better idea of what to watch. You can also easily copy titles from other users to your own lists.

There are pre-populated Smart Lists that also give you ideas on what to watch. These range from Popular Shows to Upcoming Movies. These lists will update as you use the site more.

You’ll also be able to see when titles are coming to Netflix or Amazon Prime as well as when titles are leaving Netflix. Then you can plan what to watch better as well. (I’m planning to add Hulu soon.) All of these are only supported for USA. You’ll also get recommendations on what to watch as you watch/rate titles.

You can view a sample user here to see how to organize your lists, but it’s entirely up to you how you want to do it: https://www.addtothelist.com/user/sample-user

Once you sign up and login, you will see more of the available features such as IMDb/Rotten Tomatoes ratings and when titles are coming to certain streaming services.

I hope you will sign up and hopefully it’s as useful for you as it has been for me. You can also import lists from IMDb or Trakt directly into AddToTheList.
