geekodour··on Audapolis: Edit audio files by transcript, not waveform
this looks great! will try out. I built a similar but very scrappy tool for the same usecase last year, I'd probably not build it if i found this.

geekodour··on Use a work journal
I tried following this idea from simon (first via discord channels) about 8-9 months ago and now zulip, I used zulip "streams" as the "github issue" here. Worked very nicely for me.

I use it for everything and not only work journal, this creates a small problem.Since I dump both future references and worklogs, and I have ~50 channels, it's very easy to not get back to things and only get back to it when needed(which is the idea mentioned by OP). It seems like a feature than a bug at first but after capture, one round of review after some time interval really helps. It took a while but slowly seeing the benefits.

For that I plan to write some bot to re-organize the worklogs and the reference/other things dump to my own email at the end of the week and then I can create something like https://simonwillison.net/tags/weeknotes/ for myself(private) to go though at the end of the week. I think it would be perfect for me.

geekodour··on Show HN: Tailwind Template Directory
I have been using 3.5 sonnet to generate me tailwind components it does a pretty good job, and then with clsx, tailwind-merge and tailwind-variants things become pretty maintainable. I reach-out to shadcn-svelte when I need components which would take some extra tuning.
geekodour··on Show HN: Maelstrom – A Hermetic, Clustered Test Runner for Python and Rust
at first i thought it was about https://github.com/jepsen-io/maelstrom/tree/main which shares the same name
geekodour··on I want to understand how do guys manage your cloud infra and deployments
I've been using combination of nix, nomad and terraform for last few months (hetzner & aws). There are some rough edges but overall nice dx.
geekodour··on Ask HN: How do you organize your expertise?
wait, what's scrollsets?
geekodour··on Ask HN: How do you organize your expertise?
I have terrible memory so writing things down is my only way to stay floating.

1. cheats: https://cheats.geekodour.org/ (it's a fish script that writes things into a org file which gets exported into html, i use fzf to lookup while in the cli)

2. a toolchest page: https://geekodour.org/docs/tools/primary_toolchest/ (haven't updated in many months now)

3. wiki: https://mogoz.geekodour.org/posts/

wiki(3) gets updated daily, cheats(1) get updated whenever it's a command or tactical stuff, toolchest(3) gets updated very rarely like once a month but helpful to organize the various things i work on etc.

most effective has been cheats and wiki in day to day use, i use ripgrep to search through my wiki, no fancy search.

geekodour··on Show HN: Serverless collaborative notion-level note editor using CRDT in GO
i came across somewhere on twitter that if two people are editing the document on notion, only the first one gets saved or something. I didn't get into the details of it but in that case this is already ahead in some ways.
geekodour··on Any way to get around 2FA on GitHub?

geekodour··on Ask HN: Resources and courses for learning UI/UX design
maggie appleton recently shared this on twitter, i am not a design person but the resources seemed nice

https://maggieappleton.com/ https://smart-interface-design-patterns.com/ https://www.ooux.com/people/sophiavprater https://www.amazon.in/UX-Magic-Daniel-Rosenberg/dp/170806161... https://shiftnudge.com/

geekodour··on Ask HN: What do you use for note-taking or as knowledge base?
shameless selfplug[0] but I've documented my notetaking process here. I don't follow it religiously but it's pretty much it, recently have been making more use of local llms to summarize things/reformat into forms that are useful but tedious to create manually etc. (which is not mentioned there in the linked page)

i am planning to add semantic search over my wiki and other places. Another major notetaking tool for me is pictures and screenshots, I've to figure out a way to make a better way to organize/search them in a more meaningful way

geekodour··on Show HN: Weeks of Your Life
I have something similar that was discussed here few months back, the whole thing is in a org file, i can add summaries etc and each becomes a hugo blogpost, it's not as interactive as OPs submission but works ok i guess.

interesting. I can see how this differs from D1 and kv store, but what usecase for doing it this way? was there something kv store and D1 was not enough for?

geekodour··on What are some "Best Practices" you've applied recently?
Is there a solid checklist kind of resource on gitflow vs trunk based vs others and different caveats they come with ?

eg. what is preferable for which kind of org and projects etc. I see this as a very org and project specific thing and whenever I have to suggest a flow to someone or decide one for myself, it's almost "what feels right+any reasoning around why the other flow might not be suited etc", but i don't always feel confident about it.
