gdelfino01··on Testing Phone-Sized Faraday Bags
Electronic voting machines should be put inside Faraday cages too. Specially now that communication chips have been found hidden in some of their motherboards.

gdelfino01··on Firefox is the alternative to a Chrome hegemony
After many years, I stopped using Firefox for this same reason. On the other hand, there is a fork named LibreWolf which so far is working well for me and is not related to Mozilla.
gdelfino01··on Offline-First Database Comparison
I use CouchDB. I love its multi-master replication capability, HTTP API and its ability to monitor for changes easily.
gdelfino01··on WhatsApp loses millions of users after terms update
Besides the terms update, the recent Facebook censorship in the USA has pushed many people to migrate away from WhatsApp just because it is owned by Facebook. BTW, I deleted by WhatsApp for this reason and convinced my family group about it too.

My wife and her family also migrated to Signal for yet another reason. The audio quality of the voice calls is much better.

gdelfino01··on Declining eyesight improved by looking at deep red light
I did it. It worked well for me for presbitopia. But it is quite expensive. There are also other -less sophisticated- Gabor wavelet pattern based games for iOS like "Eye Exercise" and "StretchEyes".
gdelfino01··on Free Wolfram Engine for Developers
All good until step 17. I get this error: "(7) Unable to connect". It is probably the proxy... How can I change the setting for it?
gdelfino01··on JupyterLab is ready for users
With no support for Microsoft IE or Edge, this cannot be used in numerous enterprise environments where installing alternative browsers is not allowed.
gdelfino01··on Benford's Law
The 2004 Venezuela referendum is proved to be fraudulent without using the Benford distribution (it is not a law). On that election the opposition votes where invented based on the number of signatures requesting the recall vote per voting table, yet these same votes follow Benford quite well. On the other hand the government votes not only not follow the Benford distribution but have a flat (uniform) distribution.

What I am trying to say is that the Benford distribution is very useful, but it is not a definite proof of anything. It can point you to where you should dig deeper.

For more info about the 2004 Venezuela fraudulent election see: http://esdata.info/pdf/medina-es.pdf (Spanish) http://esdata.info/papers

gdelfino01··on CouchDB 2.1.0
Full RESTful HTTP/JSON API
gdelfino01··on Sublime Tutor – Interactive Sublime Text Tutor
Atom is great for small files. Sublime is super fast and can open much larger files.
gdelfino01··on Tech workers pledge to never build a database of Muslims
I lived in Germany. They asked my religion and made me pay religion tax (Kirchensteuer). So they already have such a database.
gdelfino01··on Why Finnish babies sleep in cardboard boxes (2013)
In Venezuela the babies are being put in cardboard boxes too: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3800058/The-youngest...
gdelfino01··on The Dropbox hack is real
For gmail, you can also put a period "." anywhere and it still works.
