Not sure what the downvote is for.
A wonderful collaborative experience could just be a USP for the platform. FWIW, the now obsoleted iChat was way ahead of the curve compared to the current iteration of FaceTime in group settings, anyway.
They have been for years. I remember meeting a few wannabe VC types a few years ago to get advice on bureaucratic procedures to start a business and all of them subjected me to cross-examination using the standard VC question-bank, when all I wanted was the ABCs of starting a business.

I'd have to call the customer service line, where they wouldn't know what to do as the car was already in use according to the backend. After a few times getting stuck, I came up with a solution which was to literally beg them to cancel the checkout so that the car was available again. They were trained to not do that as their information was that a car could not be left parked outside their service area, which was definitely not the case as I was able to start a new reservation and unlock the car. This happened quite a few times, so much so that I would already know the solution but had to spend an awful amount of time explaining it to the reps -- starting with uninstalling and reinstalling the app as told by them.
Then, some other company took over the system and started a new system with the same infrastructure and the app codebase. When it happened again a couple times, I was finally able to get hold of a systems programmer who debugged the issue with me while I was out in the wind. It hasn't recurred since.
Just wanted to share this story
While a more senior developer could mentor you, once you understand the platform inside-out, you become more of an authority, and that opens you up to amazing possibilities irrespective of what language or framework you're using.
'The investment underlines Gates’s long-standing interest in alternative fuels, and his enthusiasm for new technology that could tackle emissions from industry and transport that together make up 75% of the world’s carbon footprint.'
It's an 'investment'.

Apple isn't leading either on the software front. All the stock apps are just resized apps of their iOS counterparts with nothing extraordinary about them. Most happy users are just using a bigger web-browser, or a bigger drawing app (with the same functionality as on smaller screens), or custom apps that are uploaded on an educational/enterprise portal and are a job requirement. A lot of families use it as an entertainment/learning device for their children where its processing power is underused.
There is almost no money to be made as a developer if you spend all that effort supporting multitasking or adding nice iPadOS-only features. Customers won't pay and Apple only makes your life harder with every OS release.
I do hope that more remote opportunities are posted. I am an iOS developer who has worked remotely for the last 5 years, but increasingly noticing the trend towards fewer remote opportunities. In the age of constant high-bandwidth video communication you'd imagine that the reverse would hold true.
Native iOS developer, experienced in refactoring old code as well as writing in modern Swift. Previous experience includes senior positions at various multinational companies, all of them with apps in top 5-15 of their respective categories. Currently co-founder of a new parent-teen productivity app under development. Up to date with core Apple frameworks like SwiftUI, and very interested in building something on top of upcoming SDKs like CoreML and ARKit.
I have been remote for 5+ years, and would prefer to stay so, but if there's an amazing opportunity that requires a little bit of onsite time, I would be glad to discuss!
Flexible about availability, timeline, schedule.

I don't have much, if any, of open source work, as I have been very focused on my apps (which are also my hobbies). In my off-time, I have worked on personal apps that I some day hope to make successful in their own right, but those that I intend to use regularly.
Flexible about availability, timeline, schedule.
