I don’t regret it because I can see that what I paid for is worth the value of the app despite not using it as much.
It however fails once you go outside.
Might be a stupid analogy so let’s net focus on this but I sort of see it like this:in my country, we can speak our language and it works for collaboration. Once you go outside, it fails. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t successful as a “collaborative” tool for that environment.
I think you and op just might have different scales of where you think it should work well enough.
I skimmed through the other posts and I find a lot of them relevant and helpful (+ I sort of like the author’s site and writing style)
Preferring to read imprecise sentences comes down to what the purpose of the written work is, does it not? Clear and precise technical documentation and even research papers are really helpful and can be practiced. If it’s poetry or a level of emotional buildup such as in fiction is needed, then that’s what people will prefer. Context on what is being written matters.
I may not like everything in a human curated list but I’m exposed to more things that can have sudden jumps from my current localization.
I don’t think it’s nostalgia too since I was too young to catch the original series.
- Jiro Dreams of Sushi, I watch it every now and then to inspire me about my craft. I want to go to Japan to try his food in the future.
- Icarus, I suggest you go into this blind without knowing what it’s about.
- The Barkley Marathons, this sort of got me into running.
Edit: I just went into the older discussions about how there’s a dark side to Jiro Dreams of Sushi. And honestly, as an Asian (not Asian American), I think the difference in reception is a cultural thing.
Please correct me if I’m wrong since I am not really interested in digging into crypto beyond high level details.
Based on his other comments, he’s not worth a discussion with. To dismiss someone’s ideas based on someone’s belief system is the sign of closed-mindedness. And I say that for both religious and atheistic people.
