I modified a GitHub project (https://github.com/yogthos/newsroom) to build a tailored news feed for my audience.

Now, I don't need to rely on solely being the content driver of my website.

Over time, this will ultimately prove to be habit forming as folks come to the web page to view a curated selection of news on a daily basis.

The next thing I want to do is advertise this functionality of the site.

I've been trying to push my web page into being something more than a personal portfolio page; so it's like a tool people might revisit more than once a week.

I haven't built an e-mail capture tool yet...I'm planning on using KIT for that.

Eager to hear some notes on how all of this could be improved.

I actually got inspired by an abandoned news concept that a celebrity once ran, that had a minimalist functionality and a rhythm of 2 or 3 daily drops.

Honestly, I could adjust my own site to have 2 daily drops as well. One in the morning, and then one in the afternoon.

This could be a relatively easy change as well... but eager to hear some other thoughts here.

Is this better than Claude? Probably not, right?

I haven't used ChatGPT in over a month. I bounce between Grok, Gemini & Claude. Is ChatGPT even worth it.

Grok can do things the other two can't, like read and fetch websites sometimes where Claude and Gemini cannot.

Gemini is just someone to feed javascript to when you want to save on Claude tokens.

Most people spend weeks making a portfolio beautiful but less time thinking about how anyone will find it, or how many times they'll visit it.

A portfolio gets opened once, usually the night before a consultant's meeting, and then it sits there.

So add a reason to come back.

Like maybe...your consultant portfolio sits aside a curated calendar of gallery openings, concerts, screenings and mixers you plan to attend around your city.

Now...this changes every week, and when folks check it, your consulting content lives a swipe away.

This carousel walks through the build: the layout borrowed from the Microsoft Zune, the problem and solution.

cool essay; have been checking out some of the art as well. fascinating project.

great essay!
