franktankbank··on Significant raise of reports
If you don't personally review every line then you are already trusting blindly.
franktankbank··on LinkedIn is searching your browser extensions
What if someone makes an ad thats not an ad at all, maybe its a rabbithole designed to fuck with you. Maybe its designed to enrage you.
franktankbank··on LinkedIn is searching your browser extensions
That sounds problematic and is only supported by people mindlessly agreeing to it. I know someone who got jobs at google and apple with no linkedin, and he wasn't particularly young. What do you do in the face of it? I say quit entirely. It was an easy decision because I got nothing out of it during the entire time I was on it.
franktankbank··on LinkedIn is searching your browser extensions
> Alongside thousands of other extensions. If they were scanning for a dozen things and this was one of them, I’d tend to agree with you. But this sounds more like they enumerated known extension IDs for a large number of extensions because getting all installed extensions isn’t possible.

If that's all it takes to fool you then its pretty trivial way to hide your true intentions.

franktankbank··on Nobody is coming to save your career
This is like some sort of twilight zone shit. I have not had this experience in general.
franktankbank··on U.S. stocks are set to deliver their worst quarter in nearly four years
holy shit
franktankbank··on Oracle slashes 30k jobs with a cold 6 a.m. email
That's not how stocks are measured on wall street. They picked the dumb metric.
franktankbank··on LinkedIn uses 2.4 GB RAM across two tabs
Yea, I quit recently, got absolutely nothing positive out.
franktankbank··on Go hard on agents, not on your filesystem
The funniest part is that it always gets traded off, everytime. Talking about tradeoffs you'd think sometimes you'd keep it sometimes you'd let it go, but no, its every goddamn time cut it.
franktankbank··on We haven't seen the worst of what gambling and prediction markets will do
I don't buy it. It can easily be mirrored to hard money bets.
franktankbank··on Oil at $150 will trigger global recession, says boss of financial BlackRock
> they've made it clear they're not going down without bringing everyone else with them

Isn't that exactly what you would say even if you didn't mean it?

franktankbank··on Open source isn't a tip jar – it's time to charge for access
Personally I don't trust companies not to rip me off regardless of the licensing.
franktankbank··on Tell HN: Litellm 1.82.7 and 1.82.8 on PyPI are compromised
Does that explain how circleci was publishing commits and closing issues?
franktankbank··on Tell HN: Litellm 1.82.7 and 1.82.8 on PyPI are compromised
Don't hold your breath for an answer.
franktankbank··on Mystery jump in oil trading ahead of Trump post draws scrutiny
I like how "off them" is the libertarian way like thats some sort of stable procedure.
franktankbank··on LiteLLM Python package compromised by supply-chain attack
He would have to state he didn't in fact make all those commits and close the issue.
franktankbank··on LiteLLM Python package compromised by supply-chain attack
I can't tell which part of that is expensive unless many multiples of python are spawned at the same time. Are any of the payloads particularly large?
franktankbank··on Epoch confirms GPT5.4 Pro solved a frontier math open problem
The inclined plane, the wheel, shall I keep going?
franktankbank··on No, Windows Start does not use React
Exactly, use linux instead. Windows sucks donkey dicks, its hilarious how hard you defend it.
franktankbank··on No, Windows Start does not use React
lol
franktankbank··on American aviation is near collapse?
What other kinds of problematic is it?
franktankbank··on GitHub appears to be struggling with measly three nines availability
I don't know what this means in this context.
franktankbank··on Autoresearch on an old research idea
Pretty good question, also how do you update python version without network access?
franktankbank··on GitHub appears to be struggling with measly three nines availability
Too bad they didn't find an irrational number, could have got infinite nines.
franktankbank··on GitHub appears to be struggling with measly three nines availability
Doesn't a single compromised action in the chain cause the whole to be fucked? Pinning the top level doesn't prevent any spread.
franktankbank··on White-collar AI apocalypse narrative is just another bullshit
Its a good excuse to move away from a shitty process, I'll take it! Fuck SCRUM, fuck Agile. No one was doing it anyway. I had to quit an Agile job because I was shipping shit without ever getting a lick of feedback, and this was not some webdev low stakes work, it was for planning expensive real world installations.
franktankbank··on 3M's PFAS exit killed the supply chain for two-phase immersion cooling in DCs
I get the sense that you don't understand security at a fundamental level. Its one thing to run non deterministic algorithms, its another thing to tie your account to a box running CP nodes. Anybody who buys into that future of computing is a complete fucktard. I'll be in my cabin.
franktankbank··on 3M's PFAS exit killed the supply chain for two-phase immersion cooling in DCs
LOL. You can hack any computer if you have local access. No way in hell you could ever get past the most basic of audits with such a business layout.
franktankbank··on 3M's PFAS exit killed the supply chain for two-phase immersion cooling in DCs
Making PFAS and having to dispose of byproducts is the nasty part as far as I understand. There is also some kind of reaction that can happen where it will off gas nasty enough stuff to kill your pet bird if you overheat your pan.
franktankbank··on The strait of Hormuz blockade will strangle US defense industry
Does it consume oil flowing through the strait?
