If I may try for a metaphor, then it's like our default perspective from the Earth is that we are the center of the universe, the other planets, Sun, and stars move around us, and we are stationary.
But, to zoom out, you can take a more objective view that everything is moving independently (ie, volatile). The baseline stability is a subjective perspective.
One thing that I think might be missing is the scale/population of a government's jurisdiction and perhaps the considerations of moving to more local government when it comes to the context of voting.
I'm thinking in terms of Nassim Nicholas Taleb's Skin in the Game[0] where broader forms of government (eg, US Federal Govt) are smaller (ie, more "Libertarian") by only focusing on protecting our constitutional rights while more local forms of government can become increasingly more socially democratic, but impact fewer people overall. This allows for controversial ideas to be experimented in smaller scales while allowing for competition and escape from undesired policies. A policy that proves itself useful can spread due to the actual proof of it working. Voting at the highest form of government should be a rare occasion where we can maximize the incentive to vote.
Perhaps proportional voting enhances citizens’ autonomy, by giving them greater control over those issues in which they have greater stakes
Aiming to have voting more locally also increases the proportion of an individuals vote because the population size is smaller.https://www.riotgames.com/en/news/announcing-dylan-jadeja-ri...

Has been over two months since I started to germinate spores on agar plates and am about ready to move to a fruiting chamber.
I'm personally against ads in my mail, billboards, and pretty much everywhere else where my default context is not to buy something. If I go to a pet store and get cat ads--even based on my preferences shopping there--then I think that would be fair. But ads are currently way too aggressive and essentially stalk us everywhere.
Another aspect is how misleading and/or manipulative they are. Why aren't ads more reasonable with a tl;dr about the product and then some pros/cons of it over alternative options?
Recreational cannabis use has recently gained considerable interest as an environmental risk factor that triggers the onset of psychosis. To date, however, the evidence that cannabis is associated with negative outcomes in individuals at clinical high risk (CHR) for psychosis is inconsistent. The present study tracked cannabis usage over a 2-year period and examined its associations with clinical and neurocognitive outcomes, along with medication rates. CHR youth who continuously used cannabis had higher neurocognition and social functioning over time, and decreased medication usage, relative to non-users. Surprisingly, clinical symptoms improved over time despite the medication decreases.
p.s. Did my best on the title, since it was too long.

But this is so awesome to finally have a company like Apple bring products like this to market. Too bad for the Metaverse.
I wonder if that also relates to my ADHD hyperfocus.
In fact, what if encryption one day gets so good we cannot distinguish it from plain English? Kinda like trying to spot LLM generated content.
I personally think not because I do not think "good enough" can be objectively predicted without testing it out on the other person -- "good enough" is subjective.
If "trying" is all that matters, then how hard are we supposed to try? I personally struggle with this as I find it very time consuming and stressful to even know when to stop trying. I have no objective measure to stop because I have incomplete knowledge and am just guessing.
Granted there are obvious and quick things to consider to avoid being "cruel or dismissive," but I had to learn about those things beforehand. Everytime I say something I will learn some more, but I will definitely not learn everything.
The OP also seems to be claiming that collaboration is the greatest ideal to strive for in every context. But what if I have different priorities such as objectivity, truth, and reason?
One might argue to stop at "good enough," but whose the judge on"good enough"? Again, no objective criteria!
I am strongly awaiting LLMs to at least automate "good enough" for me in communication, so that my perfectionism doesn't have to be directly involved.
There are real quality of life implications for living in an expensive city. Companies that want a physical presence there should pay a premium for it because employees should have the option to live close to their office as a default option.
