As a diet coke connoisseur, glass > can > plastic > fountain. Fountain is very often flat in restaurants and dirty. I enjoy cans over plastic because you know exactly how cold it is going to be. Glass, I just feel like a rich person.
The EDC agreed to help find funding, then reported back that they tried and failed, and then put the company into bankruptcy and took over the company for pennies on the dollar. I wonder how sincere their help was.
Seems to me the biggest problem relating the Big Bang to people is the definition of space. How can you define space if there is no known boundary? How can you say there is no central point for certain? The rising loaf of bread analogy has a center of mass. What is the Universe if it has no defined boundary? And what do we call what is outside the Universe? If we take a small box and sample a total vacuum of mass and energy in the vast space between galaxies then wouldn't that be the same nothingness outside the Universe. This reminds me of the Richard Feynman interview where he relays the "why" conundrum when trying to explain scientific principles to laymen. Analogies made in the effort to ELI5 will never be perfect and any further explanation to resolve the inconsistencies will just be too complicated.
They discuss people from the educated, democratized world see rectangles while a group from Namibia see circles because, they hypothesize, their world isn't highly "carpenterized" with right angles and straight lines. So could this not be simply because they don't know what a rectangle is, and so categorize these close loops as circles? I don't understand the acceptance it is an optical illusion.
It casts the same spell as pizza. You'd have a hard time finding someone who doesn't really enjoy it. It even works on people who don't generally like salads.
The residents should be able to sue for healthcare from probable lead exposure. It is mind blowing people don't actively vote for nationalized healthcare.
I was going to buy the Mario Kart Switch 2 bundle but ultimately cancelled my pre-order. The price tag was just too rich for what I was getting. I could afford it but the price/value just wasn't good enough. I'm making the same decisions at the grocery store.
I've been using Ubuntu for over a decade. I actually have to uninstall Windows 11 when I buy a new computer. I first take a couple of minutes to check it out and wow, it is so terrible. Ads, and over tuned UI. Everything is online now. The need for programs compatible only with Windows is long gone.
